Arsenal in £19m swap deal that makes good sense: A GREAT Flamini replacement!

It seems that Arsenal’s Belarus international Hleb is very keen to leave the club that made him the star that he is today and today’s speculation about a possible swap deal could well be just what Arsene Wenger’s side need!
Defensive midfielder Yaya Toure may be about to join Arsenal as part of the deal that takes £19m rated Alexander Hleb to Barcelona. (Daily Star)
Alot of conflicting reports have come out of the Hleb camp suggesting that talk of a move away from the Emirates has been generated by the midfielder’s agent looking to pave the way for an improved contract. In seperate interviews the 27 year old has claimed he loves the club and wouldn’t dream of moving, however other reports suggest that talks with Wenger about an improved deal failed, who know’s what to believe! However if this swap deal holds any water (and it could do given Arsene’s interest in Yaya, which has dated back for some teim) then maybe this deal would be the best for the Gunners anyway. Arguably Aliaksandr went off the boil big time as the season came to a climax and maybe filling Flamini’s boots would be a more important part of Arsenal’s squad alteration plans. Would Arsenal fans rather Yaya or Hleb? Does this swap deal sound like good sense?

Hleb’s actions towards the end of the season angered me, he seemed to give in far too easily and if it was a straight swap then Yaya would be a far more important player to sign

this would be the perfect deal for arsenal. with yaya and nasri, we will be a centreback away from a serious title challenge next season. i really hope this story is true although i somehow doubt it. hleb is a talented player but an attacking mid/winger must be able to hit the net. goals are the most important thing in football and hleb is scared of shooting, i hope he leaves.

Though I think Yaya would make a great Flamini replacement after watching his performances at Barca, I dont think he’s worth as much as $11 million as Joseph suggested. Maybe $8 million instead for him and $11 to us for a Hleb swap would be good.

ya ya would be great dont forget about a.n.c we would be weak yet again and can you really see hleb raising that sort of reveue.he’s a good player but really worth 19 mil i think not. i still feel we have enough in midfield at the momment the real concern is our defence a really good c.h is needed gallas is getting no younger and after last years antics can you really say that you trust him as a captain.

yaya would be an awesome signing, why do we need hleb? with fifa saying this stupid new rule that means we will have to start playing walcott on the wing, with nasri or rosicky on the left ,hleb has no room in the squad. good deal but i would like to see a little bit of money, maybe £4-8 million. good deal i it happens. plus he can’t shoot for shit, we need goals like the good old days when ljungberg and pires would rack up 10+.

Come on guys! if yaya joins us then great, he is an excellent holding defensive midfielder who would work well in our team but when the nations of africa come calling, he will be off alongside the rest which WILL weaken us. I personally say let djourou play in flams position in all cup games and in league games against teams like hull and fulham, see how he fairs. i personally would love barry (never gonna happen as he is liverpool bound) or kompany to fill the void flams has left.

Hleb was capable of producing pretty, but generally unproductive football - 4 goals in 42 matches is just not good enough for an attacking player.
Anyway once a player thinks he is bigger than our great club it is time to say goodbye. Others have tried and failed - those green fields are more often brown when they get there as I am sure Hleb will find out.
Sadly most footballers are not famous for their brainpower

geoffreid if you knew anything about arsenal you would know that the club doesnt pay dividends, so they are not raking anything in from not spending any money on transfers. if dunne was that good arsene would be interested. as would other top clubs. and this rumour has nothing to with arsenal spending money! its arsenal getting money plus yaya for hleb. also LOL yaya was never a an arsenal player. beveren is only a feeder club. the story goes he came for trials, wenger was impressed but couldnt sign because he couldnt get a work permit. so wenger got him in at beveren where the idea was he would play for three years get belgian nationality and then move to arsenal. however he didnt want to play at that level for so long and beveren wanted to cash in so he has moved round a few clubs in europe since. however you could say why wasnt wenger interested last summer when he moved to barca but he did have a few options in that position and prob didnt want to pay the money barca spent.

If we are to lose Hleb then i think we need to sign another creative midfielder. Yaya Toure would be a great addition to our squad but on the issue of Barca players, nobody seems to have remembered the great Ronaldinho is on his way out of the Nou Camp!
I think he would be a great asset for Arsenal and could fill the void left by injury prone Rosicky on the left, whilst Nasri does his thing on the right.
My vote is to get Yaya and Ronaldinho in, even if it does mean dipping into the transfer kitty.

Obviously we know that we are getting the best of this deal if it goes through YAYA is amazing better than Flammini by miles.
If we get Nasri he can replace Hleb and also Theo Walcott could also step up to the plate with that deadly run against Liverpool in the champions league.

yaya toure would be a good signing not a very skillful player but a player who is gonna get stuck in,a bit like (gilberto silva or clarence seedorf )type player,fabregas would be able to get forward a lot more with yaya in the team.but come on guys richard dunne would be a snip at £5m bit of back up if toure or gallas got injured it’s alot better than what weve got at the moment (senderos).

yaya is really very average. his positional sense is poor, his range of passing is mediocre and he has a tendency to go chasing the ball leaving Barca out of shape.
for the 10-15 mill we’d get for hleb there are better players, i agree with veloso for one but i think sporting will want stupid money (cue Man U).

Hleb was a star before he signed for Arsenal… maybe those who only follow the Premiership didn’t have a clue about him. That’s why he cost us almost 10 million (which was a bargain considering what everyone in Germany thought of him… and back then, he used to score goals too).
But this would be a really good deal. I don’t think Hleb is the real problem here. I think his agent has played a major role… and the Arsenal fans too, who give him way too much stick and have always done so. I don’t blame him for wanting to leave, but I do not appreciate the manner he’s gone about it.
