Liverpool want £10m young sensation: A fantastic prospect!
by Mr Comfort on May 31st, 2008It does seem that all the hard work achieved by outgoing Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is set to be undone this summer. Richard Dunne seems to be very near to leaving Eastlands and another of the Blues top performers
Richard Dunne and Michael Johnson are set to lead the player departures from Manchester City ahead of Sven Goran Eriksson’s imminent departure. Everton boss David Moyes is keen to beat Mersey rivals Liverpool to the signing of 20-year-old Johnson, who emerged last season as one of City’s most promising young players. Although City value Johnson at £10m, Everton do not want to pay more than £8m and a compromise is likely to be reached. (Daily Mirror)
For the past year Rafa has been chasing the impressive young midfielder but to no avail however alot has happened at Manchester City since the January transfer window and it does seem far more likely that a move is on the cards. Johnson was one of Sven’s most consistent performers last term so it’s no surprise he has become the target of many clubs, including it appears, both Merseyside rivals. Do Liverpool and Everton rate the youngster? And who is more likely to clinch his signature?

Yes i agree, Johnson would be a great signing for the Reds, he may start off as a squad player but in a year or two could be the next Gerrard!

i do like the lad, i also think he has a very bright future, but i cant see us signing him this is nothing more than agents talkin to increase the price or the players wage, rafa is intent on buying barry, which im not 100% certain on but he knows best, but i still believe, like many liverpool fans that the wings are the area that must be priorty, rafa has talked down winning the league next year, i understand and agree with his logic, but if that is the case then build a first team 11 of quaility players then look to strength the squad with cover players, blow the budget on two quailty wingers and move babel up front,
get rid of parry, hicks and gillet they are bring this club down to its knees

I cant see how people are saying this is the new gerrard i have seen most of this kids games, and a gerrard he is not,we can not afford to let many players go but for 10 million id snap there hands off,he only looked good last year because overall the midfield were crap.

Great start, got an injury and struggled. NOT a CONSISTANT performer last season, but if City want to sell they will, unlike the period when we HAD to sell.
Lots of scaremongering going on at our club, but in a few weeks The papers will Struggle to make up stories that City fans and fans alike will believe. Hopefully.
