There are swap deals that make sense, there are swap deals that are unavoidable and there are swap deals that are a win-win thing for both clubs, and then there are swap deals that are ridiculously one sided! This is one such proposed deal!

I’m not a big fan of David Bentley (this may have been clear from previous posts about the troublesome Rovers star) and frankly I just don’t see the value in this deal for Juande Ramos, it could well be just ‘paper-talk’, but if it isn’t I would suggest that JR rethinks the deal. Aaron Lennon may well have had a bad season (in fact he hasn’t been that good for 18 months now) but he still has amazing potential and perhaps just lacks confidence at the moment. Hossam Ghaly is no more than a Spurs squad player who will certainly leave (he hardly improved Derby’s fortunes during his loan spell were the Rams managed to get just four points in the 15 matches he played in). I don’t think Mark Hughes would be very interested in Ghaly either way the deal just doesn’t add up in Spurs favour. Do Spurs fans want to see former Gunner Bentley in a Lilywhite jersey? Do any fans think this deal makes any sense at all?
