Arsenal manager set to meet Man United, Liverpool and Everton target
by stresster on June 5th, 2008What a wild goose chase this one has become. We all knew that Aaron Ramsey was attracting plenty of interest from the top Premier League clubs, but Chelsea are the odd one out by virtue of the fact that they’re the only team in the ‘Big Five’ who haven’t lodged a bid for the 17-year-old. The Guardian reports that Arsenal may have stolen a march on United, Liverpool and Everton due to Arsene Wenger meeting the young Bluebird in Switzerland on Saturday.
Aaron Ramsey will not decide on his future until after he has met Arsène Wenger in Switzerland on Saturday, despite Manchester United’s hopes of completing the 17-year-old’s signing this week. United announced on Tuesday that a fee, thought to be in the region of £5m, had been agreed with Cardiff City but they appear to have jumped the gun, with Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal all in the race.
It must be tremendously flattering for Ramsey to have these clubs falling over themselves to acquire his signature, although it’s important for him to choose wisely. It’s inconceivable that he’ll play too prominent a role for any of his suitors next season, and the likelihood is that he’d be farmed back on loan after signing on the dotted line anyhow.

You can’t possibly be an Arsenal supporter “thenry”. The only thing I would do w/ players that S***s have touched (except for Berbatov) is scrapped them off the bottom of my shoe.

Man utd would just put him in the reserves.
At arsenal he will become famous and leave afterwards.
At everton he will be another jagielka
At Liverpool he has a big chance of becoming great.
Any of these teams could sign Ramsey but Ramsey should know that at united he’s gonna be f***ked up. The only competitors for his signature are Benitez and Wenger. Bentitez has been silent so far but isn’t he always silent

Get a life torres09 and stop talking shite. How many players have been brought thru the Liverpool youth system in the last 20 years and made it as a first team regular in the Premier League? Probably less than 10.
arse-en-alll!!!! - June 6th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
HE WOULD FIT IN PERFECT AT ARSENAL WITH THE YOUTHNESS OF THE TEAM . I FOR ONE WOULD LOVE FOR HIM 2 CUM TO THE EMIRATES, I WATCHED HIM IN THE FA CUP FINAL N HE DID WELL FOR A 17 YEAR OLD. ANOTHER YOUNG TALENT THAT WENGER CAN HELP BLOSSOM, SHOULD BE INCENTIVE ENOUGH FOR HIM 2 SIGN WITH US.

What are you talking about? There’s been no official bid from Liverpool, plus they are clearly skint, what with the swap deals and haggling with Juve over 1.5 mill, so to suggest this Ramsey lad has a “big chance of becoming great” if he goes to Liverpool is based upon what exactly? His best bet would be Arsenal or United but Everton are not an unrealistic stretch given David Moyes record with Championship players (Lescott, Cahill, Johnson, even Jagielka has had a solid season despite what torres09 thinks).
So the reality is:
At United he will be in the reserves but certainly one for the future.
At Arsenal it is a similar story, but with both teams there is always the chance of silverware in the future, and excellent record at developing promising talent.
At Liverpool he might get rotated in occasionally but I can’t see him developing much (I can’t think of one young player who has under Benitez, please correct me, but don’t dare say that overated Lucas) or challenging for anything other than a place on the bench in the inevitable “can’t win the league so we’ll throw all our eggs in the european basket” champions league games.
And at Everton he will have greater first team oppurtunities but obviously it will be awhle before he is competing at the top level.
So United, Arsenal or Everton would all make sense, but not Liverpool.

torres, you seem to be out of step mate. Our bid was rejected because we didn’t offer actual money, only the chance for Cardiff to loan a couple of our kids. We just don’t have the money. We are actually potless at the moment.
He won’t go to Arsenal because he’s British and won’t get a game. He’ll also meet Wenger and see how creepy he is in the flesh. He won’t go Everton because he’ll meet with Moyes and be a bit freightened and a bit confused by what he says. He won’t even meet ferguson but that’s where he’ll end up. It’s a foregone conclusion. It’s what Cardiff wanted and it’s only Ramsey’s agents letting the fee details slip that has slowed it down.

Actually, I feel a Benitez “I am focused on training and coaching my team.” rant coming on. I hear that he has been pleading with the yanks to release more money for players but they want to sell players first before even saying how much Benitez can spend.
I think we may be in for a long hot summer.

Calm Down is right. I think United have it sewn up, especially because they have offered to let Ramsey go back on loan to Cardiff for one more year, or so its been reported. Putting alegiances aside, if you were 17, had no affliation or love for any of the clubs chasing you then its more than likely you would go to best one, and at this point it is United. Its a shame that they can’t spread the wealth a bit but there you go.
