Man United captain ’sure’ that superstar will stick around
by stresster on June 9th, 2008The month of June in the year 2008 will be remembered for the endless stream of speculation surrounding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo. Especially if the boy wonder helps Portugal win Euro 2008, which looks a distinct possibility after a hot-to-trot display against Turkey.
Despite the forward not wanting to talk about where he’ll be playing his football next year, that hasn’t stopped the likes of Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand towing the club line and stating that they expect him to be among their ranks next season. According to Sky Sports, the latter thinks it’s a no-brainer as to where the Red Devils number seven will be plying his trade next season.
“At the end of the day he is a Man United player and long may that continue,” he said, adding he thought it was imperative that the club keeps him.
“I want him to be my team-mate because he is a fantastic footballer and that means we are going to be that bit more successful if we have got him in our ranks.
“As I said, I would love him to stay but I am not the man who makes the decisions at the club.
“So we are just like the fans really, we read the papers and listen to the TV and stuff and we’ll watch this space but I’m sure he will be a Man United player next season.”
You’re sure or you hope Rio? You can’t say you’re like a fan and then confidently assert that you think your star player will remain in Manchester. What would United do without their jewel in the crown? Worry quite a lot about how they can possibly retain The Premier League or indeed the Champions League next season?

I think he is right to go. Some people are motivated by challenges. Anyone who has achieved anything knows that once you have done it, you often then need something else to get you motivated. Upto now his focus was winning the Champions league with UTD. Now he has done it, winning things with UTD isn’t getting him excited anymore and he wants a fresh challenge. I respect him for that. He could take it easy and stay where he is but he wants to prive himself in another league. Cash in and move on.

Are you people really stupid enough to think that with out Ronaldo, United wont continue to play amazing football? As much as I love the arrogant player, he’s not bigger then the club, the same thing was said when RVN left us.
Ronnie leaving will make room in the squad for other players to come into the spotlight, it’ll be a very interesting start to the season after all this hype, wether he stays or goes!
