Liverpool THREE in £25m exit: Gives Rafa more money to use for Barry and Villa!

It’s no secret that Rafa wants to add even more quality to his squad to go with the signings of Degen and Dossena. He also knows he has a fair few players he can offload to finance these potential signings as the story below highlights.

Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill is keen on Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun but insists that any deal for the Israeli international be separate to Gareth Barry’s proposed move to Anfield. (The Mirror)

Juventus are unwilling to match Liverpool’s £16m asking price for midfielder Xabi Alonso. (Tuttosport)

Fulham are closing in on a deal for Liverpool goalkeeper Charles Itandje for a nominal fee. The Frenchman is likely to join the Cottagers as Antti Niemi and Kasey Keller seeks moves elsewhere. (various)

Yossi Benayoun had a decent first season at Anfield, but is unlikely to ever be a regular and therefore I guess if an offer of substance came in for the former West Ham man, Rafa would probably take it. If Fulham offer ACTUAL money for Charles Itandje (even if we are talking a few pounds) then the Liverpool boss will take that gladly, which brings us to Xabi Alonso, a player who most Liverpool fans don’t want to see leave. I think the boss should stick to his guns and try to get his full valuation for the man. If the Spaniard is going to leave, then it’s only right that the Merseyside club gets their money’s worth. Should Rafa cash in on this trio, or do Liverpool fans think that money can be made by selling others?
