Tottenham chase £9.6million Seria A midfielder: Juande would be insane to even consider this move!
by offsidetrap on June 12th, 2008There’s a pretty good chance if you looked up the word ‘overvalued’ in the dictionary, there’d be a picture of Lazio midfielder Valon Behrami staring right back at you.
After wasting away at the Serie A club, the Swiss midfielder would like to see if anyone else would be interested in his less-than-stellar abilities. Well apparently Behrami believes that Tottenham would be a fantastic place to ply his trade! You can only hope Juande doesn’t feel the same way…
The Times is reporting that the midfielder would be interested in moving to the North London club this summer, and would be more than happy if the club would pay his “small” fee of £9.6m as soon as possible.
Valon Behrami, the Lazio and Switzerland winger, would be interested in a move to Tottenham Hotspur or Seville. Behrami joined Lazio three years ago and has been valued at about £9.6million. “The position is complicated,” he said. “I hope to find a solution before the beginning of the European Championship as it would be important to free my head of the thoughts.” (The Times)
The situation might be complicated for Behrami, but it sure as hell doesn’t have to be that way for Tottenham. Surely there are better answers out there than this overpriced midfielder?
Would Tottenham supporters ever consider Behrami for their squad? Or would you rather Juande spend £9.6m elsewhere?

Watched him in both games. Has a poor touch, not a lot of pace and has an average cross at best. Would be completely overwhelmed by the prem. 9.6 million, Bollocks !!!!

What the f***?! Who are you people?! Behrami not a lot of pace? Fuck all useless against Turkey? One of the fastest players over distance on the planet and the Swiss man of the match by a country mile against Turkey. You really should get away from the computer occasionally and watch some footie… : )

Overpriced player? I believe Comolli is on his way over there as we speak…

Well never doubt that blokes class. Then again, for that money probably there might be more other options. How abt another Croat, Ivan Rakitic. Nice right feet. That’s probably what we need more than what Valon Behrami can offer.

Spend the money on Andrei Arshavin instead of a waste of space like Behrami, who I guess must of been one of Comolli’s bright ideas.

hes better then lennon. and dos santos is pretty useless tbh if he had potential to b world class y wud barca who have created sum amazin players over the yrs, let him go
modric is decent but if u plan on playin him centre mid he will struggle unless u get a world class defensive partner 4 him
Anonymous - June 13th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
modric is decent - get a grip, he’s world class
Sean - June 13th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
Anon. Barca, so rumour has it, wanted Dos Santos to go out on loan, not an unreasonalbe stance for a player many authorities consider to have massive potential. Rumour also has it that Dos Santos was insistent that if he went it would be for good and not on loan.
Knocking Comolli is easy, did the media teach you how to do it? It has been stated time and time again that Levy, Comolli and ‘The Head Coach’, have a round-robin of talks regarding transfers, discussing which positions need to be filled, who is available, who to approach (in which order of preference), and who to sign. Why do people still insist, therefore, that Comolli is responsible alone for any less than spectacular buys, and the coach (Jol or Ramos) for any substantially better buys, or, most amazingly, Dan Levy - now there is an unlikely hero for you.
Get it through your heads, since Arnesen came in, and continuing under Comolli, the playing staff have improved year on year. Or, I suppose, Berbs just suddenly appeared outside the Lane, with his knapsack over his shoulder looking for a game.

It does make me laugh that people are still slating our bad signings on Comolli and that all the good ones were down yo Jol, arguably our worst 2 signings which were sposed to be Comollis in Stalteri and KPB are now wanted by Jol at Hamburg! Who was really to blame?
