Every day, Liverpool fans are bombarded by a metric ton of rumours relating to new signings already sizing up a property in the Merseyside area, but they can’t all be signing! So who exactly do Liverpool fans want to see arrive? You never know, the bearded Spaniard may well be viewing this page whilst having his afternoon cuppa!

Whilst it is clear that Anfield could do with one or two new additions, it’s not like the club needs a major overhaul. Many consider David Villa a good choice for a big spend, but Liverpool did manage a century of goals in all competitions last season, which is pretty astounding and would suggest that strikers are not the be-all-and-end-all of the big spending.

Having already brought in Degen and Dossena, maybe Rafa is just after Gareth Barry and no one else. He has already set his mind to selling a few familiar Liverpool faces, with John Arne Riise, Scot Carson, Jermaine Pennant and Danny Guthrie supposedly set for exits. Is this with a view to re-investing the cash in big name players or extra wages?
