Arsenal’s defence will stay as is, but should Wenger be looking to add?

The Sun reports that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger isn’t looking to sign any defensive personnel during the summer months, with the Frenchman denying any current interest in Vincent Kompany. Wenger managed to woo Welsh whelp Aaron Ramsey from under the noses of Man Utd, something that was certain to have sent The Lord of the Ferg’s nose a dark - and jealous - shade of red.
The Sun’s press hound Ben Kinsella points out that Arsenal had the worst defensive record of the top four clubs, with 31 goals leaked. Wenger remains defiant though, saying:
“I have been interested in Vincent Kompany ever since he was 16, but I am not interested in him this year. There is nobody I need for my team’s defensive department.
“I still follow Kompany’s progress all the time and I know him very, very well. But he will not be an Arsenal player next season — and you can print that.
“I know all the good Belgian players. Arsenal are following a number of them with great interest, although I won’t name names.” (The Sun)
Is this a case of “In Wenger We Trust” or “Wake Up Arsene!!!”?…

Without doubt we need a quality centre back, maybe 2. I like the guy from Rangers Cuehallar or whatever he is called. I think we need an experienced central midfielder not Gilberto because he cant run, someone not necesserily old but with experience, and a goalkeeper, Given will do thanks.

I don’t he would come out and say ” yes we are interested in this defender and that defender” as it would provoke other teams in to bidding for them. It is not Wengers way to publicly state who he is going for. And at the end of last season he did say he would get a defender so be patient. If i am wrong and Wenger doesn’t buy one then i will eat my shorts. But i beleive he will get one.

That would be nothing less than crazy!! Our current defence cannot Match Uniteds, Chelsea’s, nor Liverpool’s. Without a top class addition we won’t win anything again. However I don’t really believe Wenger will not add a defender before the summer is out…

We don´t need any other center back. We have got Kolo, Willie, Senderos, Song, Djourou and hopefully Havard Nordveit. That´s a totall of 6 center backs, I can´t think of any other team with so many center backs…..

I think this is a smokescreen by Wenger. He did say we needed a CB and he never comes out in public and says he’s after so and so due to inflated prices. It won’t surprise when it’s made public we have signed a top quality CB.

hopefully this is just a cover-up for now to stop other teams from cashing in on our potential transfers. however, if he doesnt get another quality CB thts it im afraid.. i will happily admit we need a new manager. i cannot see where wengers coming from, i would be OK with it if it wernt for the fact he is reassuring that senderos ( probably the fuck up of all fuck up’s) can provide adequate cover next season, which in my opinion is pure fuckin madness.
we know wenger has the budget this season, we know last season we was dodgey at the back and we know senderos is unreliable at best. ffs wenger what more evidence do u need… stop fuckin around n buy some class man!

Boss plz let us be serious & stop this jocking,definately u knw wht cost us all trophies within a month and half!! Last year he stated that he would only sign top,top quality.He did sign Eduardo and Sagna and they did prove to be top quality but what was meant were players like Robinho,Ramos etc.He is very good at saying one thing and doing another.

ANYWAY!! we definately need cover in defence and hopefully, fingers crossed, senderos will have a fatal accident! because wenger does seem 2 have faith in him and i cant see him sellling him anytime soon.. micah richards would be a dream come true but thats all it is, a dream. hughes will do all he can 2 keep him at city…

Wenger is feited in the press and media like no one else. “The Frenchman says this” Or “The Frenchman says that” They hang off his everyword. Really, he is the “I Clavdius” of sport, and I am beyond giving a fig what Wenger thinks.
Wenger says ” We almost had Ronaldo but he had friends at Man U” or words to that effect. I’m not interested in “we almost had Ronaldo” We could have had him but Wenger and that stupid Arsenal board fucked up. Or fucked up again in missing out on a fine player, who incidently it is said, is leaving Man U, so why isn’t Wenger after him ? Don’t give me any shite about budgets and transfer ceilings. They have the money if they want him.

He pisses off to Africa to get African players, who have to leave for the Africa cup of nations, which is toward the end of the season. He reminds me of a modern slave trader, off to get his footballing Mandingos from the markets, only the slaves bought cheap get paid more. Thank God for that.
What is the use of getting players from Africa if they leave toward the end of the season, when we need them at the “business end” of the season. We were lucky to keep Adebayor.

we need a defender or 2, the ones we have know are useless:
Senderos, Djorou, hoyte, eboue simply not good enough.
we need a strong cb who dominates in the air. If we get that right then thats all we need we already score enough goals we now just need to keep them out at the other end to win trophies.

Arsene Wenger should ged rid of fucking useless lazy shit William Gallas, first. A swap deal + 15m to land Micah Richards at the Emirates. Kolo Toure & Micah Richards can form a dream defence line up with Bacary Sagna & Gael Clichy. Ebue, Djourou, Norveidt & Traore can be our backup defenders, tho. Donkey Sanderos can offloaded to Juventus as well. That’s all. Defence problem solved. Cheers
