Schalke midfielder reveals interest from Man United
by stresster on June 17th, 2008Having seen this player in the flesh, I can guarantee that he’s been a class act in the Bundesliga for many seasons. He goes by the name of Jermaine Jones and it appears that Manchester United have been sniffing around him recently. The 26-year-old has only been at Schalke for one year, yet he has been highly impressive for the German side and Sky Sports report that the player is flattered that the Red Devils have noticed him strut his funky stuff.
“Man United are a class team,” Jones told Bild. “The interest makes me proud.
“But I still have a valid contract with Schalke.”
Jones has also played for Eintracht Frankfurt and was considered unfortunate not to have made the German squad for Euro 2008. He has Champions League experience after helping Schalke to reach last season’s quarter-finals, and could be a great replacement for the likes of Scholes and Giggs, who will increasingly become bit-part players at Old Trafford.

Good holding midfielder, but he’d be wasting his time. We have enough people to do that job with Carrick, Hargreaves, Darren Fletcher and even John O’Shea to do those roles.
