Arsenal in £11m deal for the ‘next Zidane’!

It has been a saga of Lord of the Rings proportions, but now it appears a deal is almost done on the next young star to join Arsenal….

France star Samir Nasri is on the verge of signing for Arsenal according to media reports, writes Sam Lom-Bor.
The highly-rated French starlet has been a target for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who is set to capture his man on a long-term contract later this week, following France’s exit from Euro 2008. Wenger has previously spoken of his interest in the 20 year-old and told RMC: “Nasri, he interests me.
“I hope I will do it after the Euros.”
It has been widely reported that the Gunners boss had struck a pre-contract agreement with Nasri and Marseille before the Euros, whereby the player would become Wenger’s second signing of the summer, after the midfielder’s involvement in Euro 2008. And now that France have been knocked out of the competition, thanks to Italy, ‘the next Zidane’ will complete an £11 million move to the Emirates in the coming days. (Epping Forest Guardian)

I think it’s fair to say that Samir Nasri has had a Euro 2008 to forget, culminating in the ignominy of being a subbed sub after just 16 minutes. Perhaps even worse that he was subbed by donkey Alain Boumsong. However, the youngster is a terrific talent and will surely come back stronger and, according to this report, he will shortly be showing Arsenal fans his abundant talents.

Are Gunners fans excited by Nasri’s imminent arrival?
