Spurs star heads for shocking £12m exit: Ramos wants the cash for top quality signings!
by Mr Comfort on June 18th, 2008This Tottenham forward never really got going in north London, and may well be heading north of the border….
SPL Defenders should be prepared for a torrid time if Darren Bent is let loose on them.
As exclusively revealed by Record Sport, Celtic fancy the £16.5million Spurs hitman strongly.
Former Ipswich, Liverpool and Scotland star John Wark believes the ex-Charlton striker would score a barrowload in the SPL and terrorise defences.
Wark said: “Darren would frighten the life out of SPL defenders and score a lot of goals. He’s a confidence player who thrives on playing and scoring andI believe he’d do it for Celtic.
“Darren left Charlton Athletic for a massive transfer fee of £16.5m but it’s not his fault Spurs were willing to pay that kind of crazy money.
“It’s no disgrace to be kept out of a Spurs team by Berbatov and Keane but he’s a great lad who is capable of achieving a lot if given a proper run.
“He has the ability and the game to adapt to Celtic and the move might do him good in the long term because the SPL is a tough league.
“Being in and out at Spurs has been hard for him. His finishing could be better but he’d score a lot of goals at Celtic because they create chances.
“The fans would love him and he’d quickly become their new hero.” (Daily Record)
Reports vary about how much Bent could leave for, £12m is apparently how much Sunderland are willing to pay and Celtic may be interested in a loan deal to begin with. Bent could well score dozens in the SPL - he is a good finisher who simply won’t unseat the Keane/Berbatov pairing, so this seems to be a deal that suits all parties. Do Spurs fans think it’s time to say goodbye to the England international and do Celtic fans think the 24-year-old could do a good job at Parkhead?

I think we should keep him. He has potential. And he is brilliant on PES’08.

To have bent would be great. Just don’t want to see Jan the man or Skippy out of the team. Let Sammy go though. He needs to get starts to fullfill his potential. Lazio sounds good for him. D-Bent would score 30-40 goals a season with Gead’s and Naka around. And McCourt? Could be the nxt Lubo I suppose who came for chickens and was a little Genius. And I’m 12 and I know that! Bent reject the Sun and and join the celts! Oh Green from West Ham if the Holy Golie goes. Hope he dosen’t though.
