Ruud Van Nistelrooy was an excellent striker during the time he was at Manchester United, and it now appears that the Red Devils could be in line to capture his club and international team-mate. The Spanish press are reporting that while Real Madrid are anxious to strike a deal which will bring Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bernabeu, that might have to offer Wesley Sneijder as a makeweight.
Sadly, it’s only in Spanish but Diario Sport report that the Old Trafford club will ask this fantastically-talented midfielder to be included as part of any prospective deal. This might throw a spanner in the works, especially as Real would be reluctant to relinquish a player who shone for them last season after they acquired him for 27million euros.
Even if the Spanish champions reluctantly allowed him to join the champions of Europe, would he compensate significantly for the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo?
