Arsenal striker: ‘I feel that we are unbeatable’

Quite a statement from Robin Van Persie, who is clearly not a man short of confidence after bagging goals for Holland in successive matches. The Arsenal striker and his Dutch team stand just three matches away from glory, with Russia their quarter-final opponents on Saturday. Will the Euro 2008 favourites go all the way in this competition.

Arsenal fans must be delighted to see RVP playing so well in an orange shirt this summer and they will be crossing their fingers that the striker can finally steer clear of injury and make the sort of utterances as the below while playing for the Gunners. Sky Sports report that he has a feeling of invincibility right now.

“We’ve sent out a message,” Van Persie said. “But this is just part of the dream, not the end.

“We have to win three more times to lift the trophy.

“With this squad I really have the feeling that we are unbeatable, though we have to take it step by step.

“That is why I want to be part of the team as it feels like something beautiful is happening.”

Are Arsenal fans excited about what Van Persie can bring to the table next season? He tailed off towards the end of the last campaign, although he was returning from a long-term injury and is now demonstrating what he is all about again. Can he strike up a lethal partnership with Eduardo and maybe even Adebayor if the latter decides to stick around and stop flirting with big European clubs?
