Argentine midfielder to ‘join Spurs in next few days’

It appears that Juande Ramos has acquired another piece of his stonking great jigsaw puzzle at Tottenham. Who knows where the new signings will end, as the Spaniard continues to recruit quality players for his renovated squad.
The Sun report that, barring a medical or miracle, Mario Santana will be a Tottenham player imminently. Not a great deal is known about Fiorentina’s Argentine midfielder, other than he played a prominent role for the Italian club last season, helping them to finish in the Champions League places.
Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino said: “We’ve had an offer from Tottenham who have arranged to pay 5m.
“It is a figure that satisfies us because Santana does not feature in our plans for the 2008-09 season.
“I expect Santana to join Spurs within the next few days as he has been offered a three or four-year contract in London.”
Have they got the 26-year-old on the cheap? These days, 4 million quid isn’t a lot of money to spend in the transfer market (the 5m above is in euros). However, you do get the impression that Santana will be a squad player at White Hart Lane rather than a first-team regular like Luka Modric.

Who has come up with this rubbish? Dragon1,Ben,Hoofharted,Noodles,Marcspur,Scout,Pablo or Archibald. None of them have a clue and just spend there days surfing newsnow and posting the jist as itk. They are like clarevoyants. They put enough out there and the bits that do come true they take credit for. Mugs the lot of them.

definitely a squad player, if the guy couldnt get into fiorentinas 1st team then we arent likely to start him either. Im not saying we are better than them but the plaers we have signed recently would suggest we are after a higher calibre of player for the starting 11

This is definately to replace players such as tainio and not lennon. The guy has never been a regular starter in in seria a. check out his stats their not great. must get bentley before ronaldo leaves man utd

No he is an excellent player lennon aint anywhere near as good and would operate very well indeed down the right not just a squad player unless we get bentley (altho me i would say he is better than Bentley also) !!!

Dont no about Lennon not being anywhere near as good, that bollox although he is quite skillfull with a bag of tricks and can cross a ball.

i’m getting sick and tired of these transfers. this guy is seriously not good i’ve seen him play a couple of times. whats ramos doing, santos. modric what are these players about??? why don’t we buy some bite in midfield, BUY GATTUSO
