Mourinho decides Chelsea maestro is his man
by stresster on June 20th, 2008Perhaps not the most shocking story of the summer is that former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will be chasing his former talisman Frank Lampard. The vice captain has always made his feelings toward the ‘Special One’ clear, and him stalling over a new contract seems to suggest he could be on his way.
The Sun seem to think that Inter are preparing a bid of £6.6 million which would certainly be an absolute bargain for a man who has averaged close to 20 goals a season at Chelsea.
When you think Steve Sidwell has just been sold for somewhere in the region of £5m, surely it would take a much bigger bid for Chelsea to even consider letting their second favourite son leave. But with Lampard stalling over a new contract, perhaps they will be forced to sell at a low price or risk him leaving on a free.
