Spurs star heads for shock £8m exit: Should Ramos reconsider?

This Tottenham forward was always going to have problems living up to his price tag, and it seems his White Hart Lane days are coming to a close.

Everton boss David Moyes is making a shock move for Tottenham’s misfit striker Darren Bent – as he gets ready to sell Andy Johnson.
Moyes wants to sign out-of-favour Bent for around half of the £16million Spurs spent on him a year ago when they bought him from Charlton.
The Blues boss wants a new partner for Yakubu in a Goodison summer shakeup, with fallen star Johnson on his way to finance the move. Everton hope to recoup about £7million on AJ.
Bent, 24, is unlikely to make it into Juande Ramos’s White Hart Lane plans and free-spending Tottenham will let him go for the right price. Sunderland are also interested but the pacy forward would be more willing to go to Everton. (Daily Mirror)

The former Charlton man was probably as shocked as anyone when Martin Jol forked out £16m for his signature and, to be fair to the England man, he got his game going towards the end of the season. However he will never displace Berbs and Keane and, even if the Bulgarian was to leave, then any replacement would jump ahead of him in the queue. In many ways, a move to Goodison Park is the best for all concerned. How much should Spurs hope to get for Bent?
