Fulham line up a swap with Middlesbrough, but who is getting the better deal?

The Times reports that Fulham are after a pretty tasty swap deal with Middlesbrough.

The Craven Cottage outfit are set to use Jimmy Bullard as bait so that they can poach Middlesbrough’s Luke Young.

Fulham have inquired with Middlesbrough about signing Luke Young, the full back, with Jimmy Bullard, their midfield player, moving in the opposite direction as part of the deal. Fulham’s first choice was Steve Finnan, but the Liverpool right back’s salary demands are prohibitive. (Times)

Thsis deal looks to be one step forward and two steps back for both clubs, especially Fulham who wuldbe losing the acme of barnstorming midfielders who enjoyed a new lease of life last season. So is this a good deal for either team?
