Bentley still eager to jump the Blackburn ship despite Ince’s pleadings, and little interest from the Big 4…

One of Paul Ince’s first aims as Blackburn boss was to try and stop David Bentley and Roque Santa Cruz from leaving, and it looks like Mr Bentley is still champing at the bit to leave Ewood Park.
The Independent reckons that Bentley met with new manager Ince and told him he still wanted to leave. There is one rather whopping snag though. It doesn’t appear that anyone in the Big 4 actually wants him…

David Bentley has wasted no time in spelling out his intention of leaving Blackburn to the club’s new manager Paul Ince. The England international had a meeting with Ince at the club’s training ground on Wednesday, when he told him that he wants Rovers to sell him despite the new manager’s insistence that he was not prepared to part with any of his star names. An intriguing confrontation awaits. If no Big Four sides come blustering in, will Ince sanction the sale of Bentley to a middling club or will he force him to do hard labour down the Ewood Park mines?
