Everton boss tells potential suitors to stay clear of his striker: Andy isn’t for sale!

The rumours including Everton striker Andrew Johnson have been fast and furious this week. Just today, the striker was being linked with a move to Sunderland, and based on current reports, the rumours linking the Merseyside man with other Premiership clubs in the future seems to be a foregone conclusion.

But from the looks of things, it appears that Everton manager David Moyes isn’t ready to give up his striker so easily. The boss made it clear today on Everton FC’s website that Andy isn’t going anywhere next season.

Speculation has mounted over the 27-year-old’s future, with several clubs reportedly interested in him.

However, Moyes has moved quickly to dispel the rumours and said the club have no intention of letting him leave as he remains a key part of his plans.

“Andy Johnson is not for sale – it is that simple,” Moyes told the official club website. (Everton FC Website)

While Johnson isn’t one of the biggest names on the transfer rumour list this summer, he has been a rock-solid player for the club since moving from Crystal Palace in 2006 for £8.6m.

Are Everton supporters worried about the prospect of losing Andy this summer? Or are you fairly confident that he’ll be in the squad when the season starts?
