Manchester City set to rid themselves of one man Greek tragedy, will anyone miss him?
by Dexter on June 27th, 2008 It looks like one of Mark Hughes’ first acts as Man City manager will be to rubber stamp the exit of this truly rancid striker.
If reports are to be believed, Man City are set to bite Gordon Strachan’s wee hand off as he offers 3 million quid for Greek tragedy Georgios Samaras, a main who lowered the bar so much at Eastlands that said bar is now somewhere in Australia.
Celtic are set to offer a staggering £3 million for misfit striker Georgios Samaras, according to reports.
The former Heerenveen man is also thought to be attracting interest from Italy in the shape of Lecce and Lazio, while Werder Bremen have also been monitoring his situation.
Signed for almost £6 million by Stuart Pearce, the Greek has rarely impressed at Eastlands and new boss Mark Hughes seems certain to offload the striker as he gets his rebuilding plans underway. (Blue View)
So before Samaras does leave for Celtic on a permanent basis we have to ask; are there any City fans who rated him?

poor guy had any raw talent he did have, coached out of him by stuart pearce
a player that always flattered to decieve, i always thought everytime he came back into the team he would spark and i showed a lot more patience than most other city fans, but in the end you just have to give up
the lad has got something, maybe one day a coach will find it and he will come back to haunt us… but for now, off u go gorgeous george

Although most of us knew we’d be beat on seeing his name on the team sheet week in week out, I cant help but feel for the kid. Thrown in at the deep end and totally ill equipped for the rough and tumble of the Prem. It was kind of sad to see the guy SCREAMED at by Pearce and Booed by the fans while being played out of position. A great example of Pearce’s inability to coach at any level. I cant believe this phony and his hapless sidekick have got the job of nurturing Englands youth, they must have pictures of Brooking blowing a goat. Good Luck Georgios, it could have been so different under a coach with a clue.

Dan. You question the scottish legue. Fair enough but the thing is Sammy can’t a game for celtic. I don’t want to see him at Parkhead next season. He just can’t push Hessy and Darrson (Scot McDonald the Larrson type) Out of the way but to be fair Hesselink could play for Villa(hail, hail) or Everton pretty easily! and Scott has been linked to Everton for 6 million so I think you get what I’m saying, yes? If not Im saying Sammy doesn’t look good in scotland and I hope Gordon does realize that sammy will need games to Fulfill his potential, If theres any left and that would be very Respectful to the Sammy! hope you go but will miss your funny interviews biggin!
