Tottenham prepared to buy in bulk from Liverpool: ONE winger ONE striker could be gone!

From the looks of things, it appears that Rafa Benitez has no plans in the near future to let lanky Liverpool striker Peter Crouch go for anything less than the £15m valuation, placed squarely on his big forehead. That seems to be a foregone conclusion.

Whilst no team would be crazy enough to pay that big a price, there is one team that is trying to get around the £15m price tag by using the old noggin.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Tottenham boss Juande Ramos will be more than happy to take the Liverpool striker off Rafa’s hands for £15m — so long as he gets winger Yossi Benayoun thrown in for a discounted price.

While Portsmouth offered an initial £7million, with £2m worth of extras to follow, Tottenham are prepared to pay the full £9m asking price for Crouch and a further £6m for former West Ham midfielder Benayoun. (Daily Mail)

Well I guess someone will pay the price after all! If you’re a math whiz like I am, then you obviously know that £9m + £6m equals £15m. However, one would have to wonder if Rafa would stupid enough to let such an offer go through, since he just turned down Pompey’s proposal of £9m for Crouch just two days ago.

Would £6m for Benayoun really be enough to make the Spaniard say yes to moving Crouch? Would Liverpool supporters be happy to get £15m for the striker and winger?
