How many goals will Bolton’s record signing score next season?
by stresster on June 28th, 2008It was clear that Bolton were short of firepower last season, as they narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League. Manager Gary Megson has certainly taken a huge step to avoiding this scenario next season by landing Johan Elmander for somewhere in the region of £10million.
Big bucks for the Wanderers - will it be money well spent? The striker featured for Sweden during 2008, although he was played out wide for his country. He was apparently impressive for Toulouse last season, and will take heart from the likes of Ljungberg and Mellberg making an impact in the Premier League. ITV reports that Bolton are chuffed with their signing.
“Johan is a player I have admired for a long time,” said Megson. “He is a player who will get us goals and also create other opportunities for his team-mates.”
What do you reckon Bolton fans? Will Elmander score more than ten goals next season? This could be a value signing if he proves to be the match-winner for the Lancashire club in several instances.
