Who will be Manchester United’s one summer signing - should Tottenham fans be worried?
by stresster on June 30th, 2008Sir Alex Ferguson hasn’t got a long shopping list of players for next season. In fact, he’s not even got a shortlist as the BBC reveal that no more than one player will be arriving at Old Trafford before the Red Devils begin their Premier League and Champions League title defence.
Just who will Manchester United be signing? It appears as though Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov could be the chosen one, although Tottenham are thought to want £30million if they are to let their Bulgarian star leave White Hart Lane. The United manager has made it clear that he’s not going to be too big a spender this summer.
“Managers are back at their clubs and you can get some dialogue now if they are interested,” he said.
“But I wouldn’t think we would buy any more than one player. We are looking at one or two things.”
“People think it’s easy to buy players nowadays, but it’s not because money plays a big part first of all,” he said.
“Clubs with ambitions don’t want to sell their best players, so it’s not as easy as you’d think and we tend to look for younger ones.”
‘Looking at one or two things’ pretty much means that they have their eyes on a player and will try to sign him before looking elsewhere. Aside from Berbatov, who might interest Man United? They appear to be fine in defence, although the possibility of Ronaldo leaving might prompt the Scot to look for an attacking midfielder or winger. All will soon become clear….

to be honest i love berbatov(not in that way)and i admire him for his quality.i wouldnt blame him if he wanted to go to man u although i really want him to stay at the lane. With him and the great signings i think hell stay and with the gunners losing some important players i think a top 4 finish will be aq great target for next season, a target ,i think, we can achieve with players putting in 120%
