‘Arsenal striker is not greedy’ says player’s agent
by stresster on July 2nd, 2008After all, he’s only asked for his salary to be quadrupled. I’m sure we can all understand that in these times of the credit crunch, a bit of extra cash comes in handy for the utility bills and household groceries. The Times reports that Arsenal have rejected Barcelona’s bid of £24million for Emmanuel Adebayor, apparently demonstrating that they want to keep the player. Alternatively, this can be seen as holding out for more cash.
Stephane Courbis is the player’s agent and claims that the Togolese striker loves the Arsenal. Of course he does Stephane, of course he does. Sometimes when you love something so much, you just have to treat them as shabbily as possible. It’s the only way.
Stéphane Courbis, the player’s agent, is expected to meet Arsène Wenger, the Arsenal manager, this week, after the pair held talks in Vienna last Friday. “Since the beginning, there has been a love story between Adebayor and Arsenal and his relationship with Wenger is based on trust and respect,” Courbis said.
“Emmanuel is a man of heart, not of money. He is not greedy. He is a kid from the street, has sensibilities and is humble. If this was a money problem, then he would have asked to leave. I know that Arsenal’s political position is that they don’t pay high salaries.”
A love story with a tragic ending perhaps? It seems as though the striker has been told to shut up, not a bad idea after claiming a massive pay increase would help him out in old age! Can Arsenal fans take any more of this and will they think less of Adebayor for this ongoing summer saga?

Fair comment. At last we’re saying if you want our players your going to pay over the top or top dollar. Do you think his comments he made last week have been taken out of context? I think there is another message in there.

I’ve already run out of patience with Adebayor. The final straw came when he told a paper that as he was the replacement (in his eyes) for Thierry Henry then his pay should equal that of Henry’s (about £120,000 a week). I say ok fine Adie, but first have another 6 consecutive seasons like last year and re-set the all-time goalscoring record for good measure then we will pay you equal to Henry.
When everyone is flogging the family motor and pawning the children to make ends meet this ungrateful herbert thinks one season makes him a legend! Even lee Chapman would have made double figures off the kind of assists Fabregas was laying on all season. Fabregas….now there is a legend in the making. Wise up Adebayor and sack that agent if you want to retain any dignity amongst the obviously ungrateful supporters.

why bother talking about a player whos only interest is money , let him rot in the reserves and show him a lesson

how can they say ade aint a money grabing wanker when he full well is, it took henry 8 world class years befor he got the £120,000 a week that ade is asking for!! he has scored 30 goals in 1 season that does not make him worth £120,000 a week if he wants to go let him but nothing less the £30 million

His reasoning is that Thierry’s replacement shoud be paid the same wage.
Well Adebayor needs to realise Eduardo is Thierry’s replacemet.

A major factor in his attitude is his background. Togo i would imagine wouldn’t have been easy growing up in,not that i claim to know that much about the place. That been said at the moment he;s getting paid more money than anyone could dream of . Its just a shame he’s a fine player and he could have been an all time great. Now as it stands there’s just a bitter taste in everyones mouths, its a little sad if you ask me.

If he’s worth £120,000/week as he reckons, then surely he must be worth the £35.8m that the BBC are reporting Milan are baulking at!!
AHAHAHAHAHAHA
What a load of old tosh, even his potential suitors realise that he isn’t worth what he’s trying to get!

Ademoney forgets one thing Henry was world class which he isn’t. Henry is a legend , a god at Arsenal which Adewhore will never be. Henry was a goal scoring machine which Adebayor is yet to prove that he can do consistently, Henry’s goals won us titles where as Adebayor’s 30 goals won us nothing last season, Henry broke all kinds of scoring records at Arsenal while Ademoney while Adebayor i doubt he will break any scoring record ..Henry was the Premier League’s most prolific striker which Adebayor will never do in a thousand years, Henry scored classy goals while Adebayor scores mechanic and less glamorous goals, Henry was awesome on one on ones with goalkeepers ..anybody remember what he did to Cudicini ..the same can’t be said of Adebayor the fella can’t beat a keeper one on one thats how bad he is or should i say thats how close he is or as good as Henry he is since he claims to be paid the same wages as Henry got such that he can perform like him….This fella wins the prize for comedian of the year .Henry didn’t put Arsenal on ransom to get those wages, Arsenal took notice and saw it fit to pay him that money for all that he was doing at Higbury now how does a sucka like Adebayor a mechanic of a centre forward claim to be paid like Henry ?? let him prove himself and start scoring goals not wasting opportunities only to score 1 in 20 clear cut chances. Enuf said i hate Adebayor Wenger take the money.
