Manchester United want £14m fantastic forward: Could be perfect partner for Rooney!
by Mr Comfort on July 2nd, 2008 259 words | 9 commentsAs Sir Alex Ferguson continues to chase strikers left right and centre, the latest speculation links Manchester United with a damn fine forward!
This is the first instance in which Pavlyuchenko, 26, has been linked with the Red Devils, and according to The Daily Star, the interest comes off the back of an impressive Euro 2008 campaign with Russia, in which he scored three goals and exhibited tremendous movement and energy.
Such a style would be well-suited to United’s style of play, but the Russian’s occasional waywardness in front of goal is one thing counting against him, while his 6′2 stature would make him an aerial threat in a United side currently somewhat lacking in that department. (goal.com)
£14m-rated Roman Pavlyuchenko is a fascinating player to watch, always full of determination and plays with a smile on his face. He is also in many ways ideally suited to Premier League football. Another plus for the Russian target man is that even though he takes his fair share of digs and scrapes from centre backs, he tends not to collapse in a heap and writhe in agony at the merest touch from an opponent (something other front men find hard to refrain from, naming no names, Didier Drogba).
It would be a brave move to make, given Roman’s relative lack of top level experience, but Sir Alex has never been afraid to take a risk so maybe it would pay off to put in a bid for the Euro 2008 star. Do United fans like the look of the Russian striker?

Mr. Anonymous, you have no intelligence at all since am sure you are trying to compare this with the Madrid-Ronaldo-FIFA issue. This is mere speculation/hear say by caughtoffside. There is no single statement from officials at Old Trafford and neither on the official website of Manchester United, unlike in the Ronaldo issue. Infact you may be shocked that the managers at old trafford have not even thought about him but the press wants to think for them.Have you heard SAF asking him to declare that he wants to join Man Utd?
Have some intelligence and learn to compare like with like.

You’re joking! Pavlyuchenko isn’t good enough for Man U. He is a player that would be good quality at celtic or Aston Villa. Man U should be after Villa and good quality strikers to improve your team not another Saha!

Come on people, Saha is much better than this guy, plus there is that Manucho to come… So buy a proper World-Class striker or look at other positions

At last there is someone out there that sees things the way I do!I just hope that SAF and CO see things this way, than us splashing out huge amounts of money on just a solitary striker like Villa,Berbatov or Huntellar,we can buy Pavlyuchenko on the cheap,he’ll be easier to rotate and I’m sure that he’s got a lot more to prove than any one of the other prospects!
