Arsenal star heading for £8m exit: A flawed talent!
by Mr Comfort on July 6th, 2008This Arsenal youngster’s move away from the Emirates appears to be back on according to this source although its denied by another, I just don’t know what to believe anymore!
Roma are ready to step up their interest in Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner. (Observer)
Nicklas Bendtner’s father has quashed speculation linking the Arsenal attacker with a move to Roma or Milan.
The Denmark striker was strongly linked with a switch to Serie A in Wednesday’s Corriere dello Sport but Thomas Bendtner, who also acts as the player’s agent, has been quick to dismiss the links.
“It is not something we have heard a sound about,” he told Bold. “Not at all.” (Setanta)
£8m rated Nicklas Bendtner can be very infuriating to watch, he has obviously got a great deal of talent but more often than not he has under performed, however it is obviously crucial to realise that he is still only 20 years old. Wenger will not want to sell the Danish international and it may be wise to send the striker out on loan for another season, especially if Arsene brings in some new faces in the forward positions. Do Gunners fans think that Nicklas should be given more time to prove himself and is a loan move a viable option?

Mick - July 6th, 2008 at 8:29 pm
Yes it seems that Bendtner may or may not be leaving. I agree with u that a loan move would be best because the lad is quality just needs the rough edges taken off.
Fergus - July 6th, 2008 at 8:31 pm
He can indeed be infuriating to watch, but he does have talent he just needs to learn to be more calm when he is on on his game.
Tom - July 6th, 2008 at 8:49 pm
bendtner showed his worth with some key goals last year and improved throughout the year. i think at the moment we have a healthy contingent of strikers (with everyone fit) with a good mix of experience and potential. bendtner has a key role in the season to come and should not be loaned out, he is likely to improve more under the constant eye of wenger and if he can chip in with double figures next year it could be vital.
Mike - July 6th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
Who’s more frustrating to watch? Adebayor or Bendtner? I say the former…
nope - July 6th, 2008 at 9:03 pm
given a steady run in the side we would see what talent he is watch his international games he is quite amazing for his age not the work ethic yet of ade but given a chance maybe
nicky - July 6th, 2008 at 9:09 pm
They are both infuriating at times, Ade more than the lad who has a lot to learn. I doubt whether Bendtner would want more loan experience after his first team selections last season. We must get rid of the greedy Ade, however, and also his gluttonous agent.
Los - July 6th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
Donkeyor is by far the worst to watch! How many sitters must he miss? Plus, he’s got to learn to stay onside!
blogsmog - July 6th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
i hope it is adebayor who leaves. i cant stand that egotistical waster
Young Guns - July 6th, 2008 at 9:17 pm
Give Bendtner another Year, maybe two and he’ll be a top-class striker!
I tell you keep him at Ashburton Grove Arsene, just keep him in!!
carradona - July 6th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
the lad can play, the way he kept in Liverpool in the CL ill never forget! well done bendtner you giant donkey
Jack Staniforth - July 6th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
As has been pointed out he`s only twenty and if the potential wasn`t there Wenger would not have recalled him. He`s had his loan period and I think it would affect his confidence to be put out again. He likes to be near Wenger now, he`s comfortable and a squad player. Wenger will probably play him from the bench but he will get a run in most matches, much like Walcott did and arrive on the scene overnight. Stay put Nick your time will come.
hits - July 6th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
Bendtner doesn’t suit our play, he needs a team that provides crosses not floor play. I’d rather we get rid of donkeydayor and bring in a striker with pace, something we lack up front.
Jack Staniforth - July 6th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
Like the fly half (five eighth) in rugby the centre forward needs to be fast over ten metres like a greyhound out of a trap, he doesn`t have to break 10 seconds for the 100 metres. His job is to be a pest, alert , precise and pick up the scraps. Yes ,cross balls would suit him best and who knows what Wenger has in mind for next season. Arsenal are skillful on the floor and ,as Fergie once said “very predictable”.
Maybe we could adopt a mixture of ground skill and a little ariel ping pong. Who knows?

“Roma are ready to step up their interest in Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner”.
I am ready to step up my interest in Halle Berry
Jack Staniforth - July 6th, 2008 at 10:03 pm
One last word on the `cross ball` style. The pattern seems to be to have one lone striker like a shag on a rock so if we go for the `cross ball` approach most crosses will be useless, he can`t get them all so we would have to start thinking about packing the box or sign David Beckham (only joking)

Nic’s problem is not about his talent or performance. It’s his relationship with the teammates. He does have attitude problems but that seems to have improved this year. I really like this kid, and I wish him all the best if he can’t make it at the Gunners.
Jack Staniforth - July 6th, 2008 at 11:13 pm
If some one gave me the `Liverpool kiss` I`d have an attitude problem to.
von Trap - July 6th, 2008 at 11:18 pm
Why is anyone even giving this pile of crap story and legitimacy?
Is boll*cks, pure and simple.
Bendtber aint going any where.

All AW needs to do is bench Adebuymore and give Bendtner his chance to shine. He seems to be the same player Adejudas is and whats more he’s that much younger and more technically sound as appose to Ade’s persistant workrate, i feel if he gets a run of games with The Fabregas providing the assists im confident he can be an even greater asset than Adejudas. All Wenger has to do is Bench Ade-buymore, Bench Ade-judas, Bench Ade-lier, bench him and show him that We Are Arsenal and that we are just fine without him, just like we were fine without King Henry, just like we were without Dennis “The Dutch Master” Bergkamp, just like we were without Sulky Anelka, and just like we were with Ian “More Than a Legend” Wright Wright Wright.
As a club we are are fine, in fact more than fine we are flurishing because as Le Professeur has been planning all along we now have a youth system that will in a few years make us a self sustainable club which is not reliant on the flawed transfer window system currently in place, and quite frankly thats the most reassuring thought I as a True Gunners Fan can have.
Taking a stand or ridding ourselves of mercenary players like Adebuymore or Pleb is more than just about Arsenal getting silverwear or progressing financially as a club, its about us, as true fans having the right to support players who appreciate the club and our support as much as we do supporting them, thats our right and thats where our dignity and integrity in this sport we religiously love comes from. For me no one deserved that more than Dennis “The Dutch Master” Bergkamp. In him was a Legend of a player who begged to stay at the club even if he had to take a pay cut, thats a real Football player and an even better man, who a fan would gladly support and indeed shed tears at the sight of him leaving, and thats the kind of player this club deserves, thats the kind of player we as True Arsenal Fans deserve even if it means selling and letting the media label us as selling club.
If you think about it, and really think about it, when was the last time we didnt sell or have a player leave rhe club?… exactly, and thats all Wenger was referring to and even so guess what we are still getting better. If you ask me some you glory hunting fans out there who dare to call yourselves Arsenal fans and yet want Arsenal to be like other clubs full of big name players are only exposing yourselves to being the glory hunter fans that you are.
Being a fan is about supporting your team and the greatest example of that in my lifetime was when Arsenal beat pompey 5-1 and the fans passionatly supported their team and went as far as giving Viera, Ljungberg and in particular Henry a standing ovation for their perfomances. Thats what being a fan is about and you prove yourself as a fan in that titanic moment when the ship is sinking, are you the rat glory hunter who jumps off the ship or the fan who would gladly sing for his team even in defeat, thats what we should have done when tottscum beat us after 19 years of domination but instead, unlike the pompey fans, we curld up into balls of shame and forgot who we were and what our duty is to our club.
Im a Real Arsenal Fan. Win, lose or draw im an Arsenal fan and all i ask is for my passion, my love and support from the club i have supported for 20 years now is for them to buy players who would see fans like me in that stadium as we sing their names to just show some appreciation and professinalism honour their contracts and at least be deserving of my support. Thats all any football fan asks for and that is the only reason Wenger needs to sell these disloyal mercenary footballers, quite frankly seeing Adejudas and Pleb in an Arsenal shirt is going to leave a bitter taste in my mouth, i may be happy when he scores and i may not boo him but i wont be singing his name nor will i be buying a shirt with his name on the back like a planned to next season cos as far as im concerned he just number 25.
hadders - July 7th, 2008 at 1:25 am
bendter isnt going anywhere. had a long chat with him the other night, bumped into him in a night club in marbella. i think adebayor fking off wil do him and arsenal a world of good.
Bob_Bobson - July 7th, 2008 at 1:30 am
I agree, Bendtner has got loads of potential & would hate to see him go just as he’s about to realise it
he’s only 20 & yet he’s a regular (& regular scorer) for the Danish national team
not too shabby at all…
arden - July 7th, 2008 at 4:21 am
I think people are going over the top on Ade. Sure he’s made some greedy comments but he’s still a top class striker. No one would’ve predicted before the season that he would have got 30 goals.
something about arsenal GOD ALWAYS PROVIDES A WAY OUT! When we shed the money minded boos yearly courage crops up amongst the remainees. this is what we need so as when we are done away shading the likes of 'help' & 'ade buy all'and we are left with b - July 7th, 2008 at 4:38 am

ok, first off, it’s ok to criticise the club you support, if the intent is to see the club improve. glory hunting is aok in my book, why not, we’re a great club, as long as you don’t jump ship in tough times which are unavoidable. the point is we can’t always know what’s best but we want to see our club doing well. now, back to the question at hand. together ade and nik comprise most of our aerial ability. can’t let them both go, so let ade go. is it possible that nik has more aerial ability than ade, well i believe nik can jump higher and probably has more aerial ability than ade. nuff on that. hleb gotta go too. bring in some beefy dm like yaya, and a kick ass player who can score any day of the week(i’ll leave that to arsene). arsene’s not infallible but he’s got an eye for talent and we’ll be up there again. i watched vela play madrid and vela was giving sergio ramos more than he could handle much of the game, delightful. one or two pieces of the puzzle remain to be solved but we’ll get there.

A month back, Bendtner has already Bendtner has already refused offers from two german clubs including Bayern Munich. Dont think he is going this season..
Terje - July 7th, 2008 at 10:55 am
Adebayor will be sold next summer, and Bendtner will be given the chance to step up. That is my predition, as Ade has one more year left on his contract next summer, till he can buy himself out of his contract. If he has a decent season, he will fetch a fair bit of loot as well.
jw - July 7th, 2008 at 11:18 am
i want him to stay and ade to go, im remembering bendtner’s first touch vs spurs that was a goal, and then i remember ade’s header against ac milan that should have gone in the back of the net if you were half decent but he hit the cross bar. bendtner stay and grow up a little, ade go… please
padraig - July 7th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
I watched the season review DVD over the weekend and I only counted 1 assist from Adebayor, as opposed to 5 or 6 for Bedntner, who played a lot less games. Lots of times last season Adebayor only had to play a simple pass behind the defence for a player running in and he made a mess of it. I think that bedntners passing is much better than Adebayor and when he improves a bit on his finishing he will be a much better player than Adebayor.
aNaKiN99 - July 7th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
bendtner aint goin nowhere… wenger has too much faith in him to let him go…
besides we need him since most of our strikers are injury prone… he’s much more fitter n sturdier than rvp atleast n can be used when we run out of firepower i the strikers dept…
he’s gonna be better than last season…
who knows.. he may even knock off ade from the no1 arsenal striker spot which he’s currently holdin (provided ade stays)

Holland striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has revealed his dream of playing for Manchester United, who he says are ‘very interested’ in securing his services.
Those of you who said he was available can forget it. Man U is chasing him
aNaKiN99 - July 7th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
true alan… manu are chasing him and tats really sad news… being an arsenal fan….
if huntelaar joins manu then manu are gonna be unstoppable next season… they already have such a potent strike force…
but i really cant understand who will manu use as their preferred 2 strikers upfront???

What games was every1 watchin last season, Bedntner is pony, the guy is not worth £8m, im a west ham fan & we have Carlton ‘cant score’ Cole thats how bad it is & i would still not swap for Bedntner.
okabeng - July 9th, 2008 at 11:56 am
