Arsenal line up £16m Adebayor replacement: A definite 25 goal a season striker!

Arsene Wenger is considering a replacement for the potentially exit bound Adebayor and he may have found just the man he was looking for!

The Arsenal manager is known to be displeased with the conflicting messages coming from Adebayor over his future and the opportunity to make a profit of over £25m on the player he signed from Monaco in January 2006 will prove extremely tempting.
Wenger admitted yesterday that the burden of meeting the payments for the £360m Emirates Stadium means he will have to sell a big name player every season for the next 17 years.
Even so, the profit he would generate from the sale of Adebayor would leave plenty in the kitty to sign a replacement. Blackburn’s Roque Santa Cruz remains top of Wenger’s list. (Daily Mail)

Emmanuel Adebayor seems more than likely to leave the Emirates for pastures new and if Santa Cruz arrived I really think that would be an improvement for the north London side. Roque was a revelation last term a striker who is not afraid to work hard, tracking back ceaselessly and basically being one hell of a handful for defences and having proven himself at Blackburn by scoring 23 goals in his first season and could surely manage at least that many at Arsenal given the service he would get from the likes of Fabregas and co. So would a move for Roque to replace Ade constitute an improvement in the Gunners frontline?
