Liverpool prepare one final bid for ace midfielder by adding a shock player to the offer: Will this be enough to make Villa budge?

Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill said over the weekend that it would take more than £15m and add-on clauses to bring the one player Liverpool can’t seem to live without to their club. Well after much thought, it appears that Rafa is ready to up the ante by throwing in the initial £15m and a certain right-back to sweeten the offer.

Liverpool hope to tempt Aston Villa to part with Gareth Barry by adding Steve Finnan to their existing £15m offer for the England midfielder. (Telegraph)

With the addition of Philipp Degen and Andrea Dossena to the club, Steven Finnan has become a potential offer piece for some time. There has been much talk about how Finnan wanted to fight the new signings for his place, but with Rafa potentially moving in a new direction, he might want to move the solid Irish right-back to a club that could really use him for the upcoming season.

Do Liverpool supporters think Finnan plus £15m is enough to lure Gareth Barry to the club? Or do you think Rafa should keep Finnan and let him fight for his spot?
