Liverpool confirm signing with HUGE potential: Rafa is building the next generation!
by Mr Comfort on July 8th, 2008 10 commentsBenitez is fast assembling a damn fine crop of young talent and the Spaniard has just secured a fine striker for the future.
Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Denmark youth international Nikola Saric from Herfolge.
The 17-year-old talent has moved to Anfield ahead of the new Premier League season but will initially look to impress in the club’s youth and reserve ranks.
Big things are expected of Denmark’s Under-17 Player of the Year though and Saric admits he cannot wait to start his adventure in England.
“Of course, I want to join Liverpool FC,” Saric told Herfolge’s official website.“I will get to train with the big names over there and develop in the reserves. It is a tremendous chance for me and I am very happy.
“Since I feel the time is right and that I am mature enough for a new challenge, we have been waiting for the right club to come with an offer.”
Saric will hope to join Krisztian Nemeth and Dani Pacheco at the forefront of a new generation of Liverpool hopefuls looking to make a first team. (Skysports)
It’s good to see Rafa continuing to build a great foundation for the future and it’s a very cost-effective way to prepare for the ongoing mission to clinch that elusive Premier League title. Clearly Liverpool has a good scouting network that spreads far and wide, and the fruits of that labour have already been seen in the first team with the successful inclusion of the likes of Jack Hobbs.
The likes of Plessis, Lucas, Leto and El Zhar have also been expertly snapped up from their clubs just as they were beginning to enter the limelight, yet more evidence that the Merseyside club are managing to persuade top-class teens to sign. Do Liverpool fans feel confident for the future?

Im sick of seeing your attention grabbing headlines on Newsnow with little or no substance in the stories to back them up. You are wasting everyones time.

If he’s as good as Pacheco then he’ll be a cracking signing. Not quite sure what you see in El Zhar or Leto though.

Mr Comfort is the worst journalist I have ever read. Constantly reporting old news under new headlines, things that are completely untrue etc. He is compensating for the fact that he has no sources of his own and lacks any real ability to write a clear and concise article.

Nemeth is class, Pachecho and Bruna have all the qualities to be brilliant too. There are a lot of those lads who are at a key point in their careers, where first team football will be the test to see whether they can consistently survive at a higher level… if they are not going to play regularily for the first team, get them out on loan, BUT only to the very highest level of club we can get for them… top european leagues would be the very best option, but if not, prioritise premiership and championship clubs, as opposed to league one and below.

The likes of Jack Hobbs, Plessis, etc. have played a handful of games for the first team (Carling Cup put aside). That’s hardly any proof of success. We’re are wasting money and time on the youth teams. You can’t go down that road as a top 4 team these days. None of them will ever get a real chance in the first team, teams like Liverpool just can’t afford to develop own talent when challenging for the big honours.
