Spurs to announce BIG £17m signing by Friday: Ramos will not miss out!

Tottenham are apparently literally just days away from another big signing and, in doing so, Juande is seeing off competition from Liverpool, Everton and Aston Villa for the England international!
Tottenham have made their latest play for David Bentley by offering Blackburn Rovers money and an assortment of players, including the striker Darren Bent and goalkeeper Paul Robinson.
Spurs previously approached Rovers with £7m plus the winger Aaron Lennon only to be rebuffed and are exploring alternatives involving players who are surplus to the requirements of the coach, Juande Ramos. As well as Bent and Robinson, Tottenham have indicated that Anthony Gardner, the central defender, could be used as a makeweight in any deal for Bentley, should Blackburn wish. (The Guardian)

We are at the business end of the transfer window. With pre-season training back on the agenda and friendlies taking place, managers up and down the country want to get their pack in order for the season ahead. JR is keen to make sure he gets Bentley before this saga drags on much further.
The former Arsenal man has made it clear that he wants out and Blackburn want to make sure they get what they can for their assist machine and are now quoting a stunning £17m for the 23-year-old. Do Spurs fans think that Ramos should just give up on this target? Has the price just gotten ridiculous?

bents worth 10 mill robbos worth 5 mill gardners worth 2mill so thats 17million and knowing spurs we probably have offered blackburn 13million aswell so we are paying up to 30million for bentley which is rubbish, hes good but not that good… offer a take it or leave it bid of £15 million and keep bent sell robbo and gardner seperatly

I am Juande Ramos. We are just pretending to sign Bentley as a smokescreen. I can’t believe how many people are falling for it. I paid him £10 to show up at a hospital we usually use for medicals, we are happy, he is happy, earning some extra money in the summer hols. I hope he spent the £10 wisely, but I heard he spent it all at Macdonalds.
Anyway, in my view, Bentley is just like Tainio, but without the commitment. Other than that, they are exactly the same player.

I was one of those guys “out on a limb” but the holdup was as publicized (correct information for a change); it was simply down to giving Ince the final sayas he joined the club. It was a done deal back then, same as I said about Gome, just the timing was different.
The one I seem to have been misinformed on was Villa, but I am told this is not down to Villa’s reluctance to join the club, more Berbatov’s about turn about staying. It seems he has duct taped his agents pie hole and decided to stay for another year.

I agree, David Bentley definitely isn’t worth £17m or even a penny over £10m. I don’t think he’s the player to take us to the next level. There are so many other big name players throughout Europe that have played European football on a regular basis whereas Bentley has had 1 good season and now he has an inflated price tag. We should learn from our £16.5m mistake last season and instead spend it on luring someone like Clarence Seedorf to Spurs. We need a decent leader in midfield and while Modric looks like a great player, i’m not convinced he’s a leader

I don’t think £17m is too much for Bentley, considering the fact that Adebayor will be sold for £30m. Going by the way I like to spend my boss money, I think I am doing fine paying less than half of what the scums across town will be getting for their prized asset.

Im currently talking to many spirits in the other world at the moment, and they say Bentley is far to much, and we should tell van dar fart!! to get stuffed after his comments about us today.
I have spoken to Ramos my mate! and he agree’s that Bentley is to over priced for us, and we have given to many fridays for him to sign!!? and to many medicals for him to. Also so far we have found out he cant sign coz he cant write, so as you will be aware that is a big problem for us.

The reason we nearly got into champs league a couple of seasons back is because we had carrick (modric can fill this void) and davids, who wasn’t on top of his game but still had balls and leadership. Also, who can say that king and woody will last a season together, a good back up defender is needed urgently cos dawson and kab-who dont fit the bill. come on ramos or, cough cough, comolli, sort it out

Bentley will be brilliant for us and provide all the crosses berby and keanoe have been craving for. Modric is going to be the dream player of the year…king, woodgate and dawson are no problem and bale and hutton look class. Don’t know to much about the new goalie but a keeper friend of mine (albeit an arsenal fan) says he’s pretty shit hot. We now just need a midfield general…a holding midfielder who can drive the others on. Answers on a postcard please.

Take the £17mil that we might waste on the over preened over rated Bentley and spend it on Wright-Phillips. He is a better version of Lennon and if he was playing regular first team footie Bentley wouldnt even get a look in regards the England team. If we cant get Phillips then sign Joaquin as both these players are simular to Lennon and will help Lennon develope without having to chage the style of play. I dont think we should let Blackburn hold us to ransom over Bentley as he is not good enough. Maybe next season when Blackburn fail to quilify for europe again we can take a couple of Ince’s players cheeper but 17 mil for Bentley….. No Way!!!!

sell chimbonda, robbo, gardner, rocha and taino. add the (around 12m) to the fee we were supposed to spend on bentley, and sign Senna instead. a world class defensive midfielder. I know that is much for a 31- year- old, but at his role, he can play til at least 35. by that time we should be established in the Champions League, and would easily get a world class replacement in his position. If Senna’s impossible to get, than splash some of the cash on Lassana Diarra. He is Zokora with the ability to pass the ball.
