The Sun reports that Valon Behrami has rejected a move to West Ham. The player is dubbed as Switzerland’s David Beckham, not because of any footballing similarities, but – according to journo Paul Jiggins – because of his penchant for “trendy haircuts”…
West Ham gaffer Alan Curbishley obviously liked the look of Behrami’s aforementioned wide array of barnets, and tried his luck with a cheeky bid, but The Sun seem to suggest that they don’t have much hope of getting him.
The Hammers fancy the versatile midfielder, 23, who intends to buy out the final year of his contract with Italian club Lazio.
But Werder Bremen are favourites to land Behrami following his exploits at Euro 2008.
Agent Alessandro Beltrami said: “We have offers from Germany, Spain and England.
“He wants to play in the Bundesliga. England’s not a priority.” (The Sun)
