Well you can mark one name off Arsène Wenger’s summer transfer wishlist. After much talk and discussion over a certain French footballing sensation, it appears that Wenger has found a way to once again get a deal done when it matters most.

Sky Sports is reporting that Marseille playmaker Samir Nasri has finalized a move from the French club to Arsenal for an undisclosed fee, and is more than prepared to make the next step up in his playing career by moving to the Premier League.

Nasri told the club’s official website: “I’m very happy to become an Arsenal player, it means such a lot to me. This is a very important step in my life as a football player because Arsenal is a massive club.

“I really hope everything will go well for me here. I will my best for Arsenal and its fans and I am honoured to be part of such a great football club.”

Manager Arsene Wenger added: “We are delighted to be signing Samir Nasri. He is young, quick and technically an outstanding player. (Sky Sports)

Nasri has been in the discussion as a potential Arsenal target for some time now. The move seemed pretty inevitable early on, but when talks cooled late in the Euro championships, there were rumours going around that a deal might not be in the cards. But once again, Wenger found a way to bring another fantastic young talent to the Emirates. The question still remains: with so many other young names out there on the Frenchman’s list, will this be the start of some serious spending for the London club?
