Liverpool starlet set to bid sayonara to current employer: Could a certain keeper be next?

This should come as a sad bit of new to most Liverpool supporters. After watching wishing and hoping that midfield starlet Danny Guthrie would turn into a proven member at Liverpool, it appears that his time at the club has sadly come to an end.

The Liverpool Echo is reporting that Guthrie will be making his way to Newcastle, after the club came to an agreement on a suitable transfer fee. But Danny might not be the only one set to leave Anfield! Apparently the club also has two offers on the table for their wantaway keeper.

The England international keeper is likely to follow Danny Guthrie through the exit door after Liverpool accepted an offer from Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle for the midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Bolton.

Guthrie will now hold talks with Keegan and if personal terms can be agreed the deal will give the 21-year-old the first team football he craves but was unable to secure at Anfield.

I won’t even begin to speculate on which rival clubs want Carson, but I will say that his move couldn’t come at a better time with Liverpool currently chasing Robbie Keane and Gareth Barry.

As for Guthrie, I think most would agree that he just didn’t peak at the right time. With Rafa currently trying to find the best talent in the world, he gradually got pushed out the door to the point where a permanent move to another club made the most sense.

Do Liverpool supporters believe the club gave up too quickly on Guthrie? Do you think it was inevitable that these two players would leave sooner or later?
