Troubled Liverpool star heads for £3m exit: Rafa can surely afford to let him leave!

This tabloid dream of a player looks set to leave Anfield in search of a new challenge and Rafa Benitez can definitely live without this headache!

Blackburn target Jermaine Pennant has been given the green light to quit Liverpool, writes TOM HOPKINSON.
Boss Rafa Benitez is willing to listen to offers of around £3million for the midfielder who was a target for then Rovers manager Mark Hughes in March when Liverpool’s interest in David Bentley was revealed.
And new gaffer Paul Ince has continued to track the player, with Bentley still set to go. (Sunday People)

Jermaine Pennant is in danger of letting his potential go to waste. A career full of off the field craziness and on the field inconsistency could well be a hit at Ewood Park and Paul Ince is unlikely to be a manager who will stand for any of his wayward shenanigans. Still only 25 the former Arsenal man would surely have been capped at senior level if it hadn’t been for regularly falling foul to mischief but his inability to string three or four strong performances in a row is just as much to blame of the lack of recognition. He may well thrive at Blackburn Rovers and the price is relatively cheap so it seems like a win/win thing for all concerned. Do Liverpool fans think they ever saw the best of Pennant in a Reds shirt?
