West Ham United to bid for £2m star in the making: Curbs to put Zamora cash to good use!
by Mr Comfort on July 16th, 2008Hammers boss looks to make another move for a highly sought-after youngster!
West Ham boss Alan Curbishley is ready to make a second attempt to sign Leicester wonder-kid Joe Mattock with a £2million swoop.
Curbs will rival Aston Villa and Everton in a scrap to bag the England Under-21 international this summer.
He failed with a £1.25m bid for the defender, 18, in January. (The Sun)
It’s clear that Curbishley is trying his best to trim costs at Upton Park and, having somehow managed to get £6m+ for Bobby Zamora and John Pantsil, he is now setting his sights on another attempt to secure the services of one of the best teenagers in the British game. Clearly the former Charlton boss is keen to build on the youngsters already in his squad. The likes of Sears and, to a larger extent, Noble are two who have already shown incredible promise, with Widdowson, Hines, N’gala and Hales also beginning to push into first-team squad reckoning. Are West Ham fans excited about the coming season?

not quite as simple as that is it? depends who we sign, Berhami and Mattock would be 2 good signings.

Mattock would be a great addition to provide cover for McCartney. £2m would be a steal for someone of his age and potential. Sign him up!
And no, in general WH fans (those that I know) aren’t overly excited about next season. I can’t remember being excited about the future since Curbishley took over. Pards was much more inspiring albeit another sh*t manager.
