Will Howard be able to stay as Everton’s number one?
by Dexter on July 16th, 2008 The Sun, along with a number of more reputable papers, are reporting that Davie Moyes is set to wrap up the signing of Sporting Lisbon’s 24-year-old Serb keeper Vladimir Stojkovic, but where does this leave Everton’s current number one Tim Howard?
It looks like Vladimir Stojkovic will initially be signed on loan with a view to a permanent move, which is becoming something of a Moyes motif.
SERB keeper Vladimir Stojkovic starts training with Everton today in a bid to secure a permanent move to Goodison.
Boss David Moyes wants another stopper as back-up to Tim Howard.
Stojkovic, 24, has fallen out of favour with Sporting Lisbon coach Paulo Bento and wants a move to the Premier League.
Sporting may allow him to stay at Goodison on loan with a view to a £2.4m permanent move. (The Sun)
The fact that Stojkovic has to prove himself this season before he gets any kind of permanent offer will probably mean that he pushes Howard hard for the number one slot…

Howard is world class and really untouchable at the moment. He single handedly kept USA in the game against the Argies.A good #2 nothing more.

Tim Howard is a fantastic keeper & will probably stay No 1 but if he doesn’t it means we’ll have an even better keeper than Tim. its a win win situation!
