Queiroz does the dirty on Manchester United!
by Dexter on July 17th, 2008 Carlos Queiroz, possibly the most aggressive defender of Ronaldo’s position as a Man Utd player in the face of Real Madrid interest, has now retreated to a neutral position.
The Independent reports that when new Portugal coach Queiroz was quizzed about his former player, he didn’t offer up his usual robust defence of Man Utd’s interests.
Introduced yesterday as the Portugal coach, Queiroz replied to a question about Ronaldo’s future by saying: “As a national team coach and being attached to the Portuguese football federation, we must not interfere with relations that are professional between our players and clubs. We should not even have an opinion about that.” (Independent)
For someone who offered up such a red-blooded defence of Man Utd (and such a molten attack on Real) in the Cristiano Ronaldo saga, to suddenly slip into a neutral position is a major backtrack and could imply a tacit acceptance that Ronnie is off to Real.

What a horrible article.
He’s being professional. He’s the national manager now. It’s not appropriate that he should comment on Ronaldo’s future.
I’m sure his views haven’t changed.

What a shite article. The reason why he didn’t voice an opinion is because, since he left United, IT’S NONE OF HIS BUSINESS, so he’s doing the right thing, and people like Blatter should take note and not get involved in issues that don’t concern them. To suggest that Carlos not giving an opinion is because Ronnie is on his way is laughable and possibly, assuming the author is a Liverpool, Chelski or Arsenal fan, wishful thinking. An artice that ‘Marca’ would be proud off.

He has a new position and so a new perspective and responsibility.
Queiroz’s comments are spot on, befitting of both his new position and the integrity of the man.
