Liverpool target £10m midfielder: could be a star of the future!
by Mr Comfort on July 20th, 2008Once again the Liverpool supremo is keeping a close eye on a long running saga at Manchester City as one of England’s most promising talents appears to be unwilling to sign a new contract.
Mark Hughes is in a fight to keep midfield ace Michael Johnson at Manchester City.
Johnson, 20, is stalling on signing a new deal and that has put Everton on red alert, with Liverpool and Aston Villa also keen. (Sunday Mirror)
Rafa has been chasing the quality midfielder for quite some time and if he is still not putting pen to paper on a new Eastlands contract it is no surprise that Liverpool and others are keeping a very watchful eye on the impressive youngster rated in the £10m bracket. Sure to be an England star of the future and given Benitez’s apparent keenness to bring in more homegrown talent ahead of possible UEFA regulations stipulating a quota on such players, it is therefore seemingly possible the Spaniard will make a move for the City man. Do Liverpool fans think that Johnson could be an Anfield star of the future?

I rate Johnson highly, he could be another good young signing for Rafa. He could be a great player for the future

Don’t do it Johnno- joining the Anfield players graveyard will mean nothing but grabbing yourself a ‘19th anniversary without a title’ tee shirt and arse splinters from the rotation.

Royal Blue Mersey, I’ve seen you make that comment on at least 2 of these stories so far, and I doubt it would take much effort to find it in others. Really if you want to try and be funny it’s useful to try and come up with some new material every now and then…

Royal Blur Mersey. Haven’t you got anything original to say, just you posted the same shit on another page. It’s really painful for you isn’t it, always in our intimidating shadow, never able to challenge for a trophy, sorry you did win the FAcup about 10 years ago and died in the group stage of the Champions league, lol. Do you not have anything better to do than spunk your jealousy all over the internet for us to smile at. Was nice to see your biggest player visit your ‘biggest’ fan on Sky Sports by the way, he should loose a few pounds on his way out of Liverpool to watch you play over the coming years or maybe he’ll just do what Andy Johnston is doing, “Taxi?”

Hey Royal Blue Mersey
Do you just go from article to article posting the same comment? Can’t come up with anything else?
Royal Blue Mersey - July 21st, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Yeah try this;
“Ryan Giggs has won more titles on his own than LFC have in the last 20 years.
Discuss using close reference to the £50M per season pile of steming shite that you have bought season-in-season-out to stay one place above your city rivals.”
Royal Blue Mersey - July 21st, 2008 at 4:50 pm
Silly me! that should have read “10 times as many” :))
Ben - July 21st, 2008 at 5:04 pm
Could be good but not sure about the 10 mil!

Ryan giggs on his own…what a stupid ass comment! I didn’t know man u only played with one player. Your a jack ass. That’s the problem with you wankers, you don’t understand a team game. Go ahead and buy championships…how can you be excited about your team? A bunch of fuckin’ sell outs. You best player doesn’t even want to play for your team. Why?
It’s a shame. Football has become about who has the most money. It’s ruined the beautiful game…but has given man u the oppertunity to buy some titles. I’m glad to your excited about your titles…even though there’s no glory in it. Big deal! Oh guess what. Real Madrid won another title…also bought it! Same fuckin’ team just in different countries.

Royal Blue Mersey, try and think before making a silly statement like that Giggs one - Djimi Traore has won more Champions League Medals in his short and disturblingly successful career than Neverton have. In the last ten years Everton have been to less cup finals than Millwall, Cardiff and Southampton. Everton’s last Champions League campaign lasted 2 matches, almost a twentieth of the number of Champions League matches that Liverpool have played since then.
