As Alex gets settled in at his new home and his massive new salary he still finds time to insult his former employers with a comment that will surely anger Arsenal and their fans!
Belarus international Alexander Hleb is ready to incur the wrath of Wenger again as he attempts to lure Fabregas back to the side he left five years ago.
“Cesc Fabregas explained a lot of things to me about this club,” Hleb told Barca TV. “His time in the academy with players like (Gerard) Pique, (Lionel) Messi and so on.
“He loves this club. Now he’s at Arsenal, but who knows if in the future he’ll come back to Barca? (football365.com)
Why, why why? I don’t get it? Footballers can’t be this dumb or this vindictive. Sure he may have been coerced into making such a statement but he could just have easily have said “Cesc is happy at Arsenal so don’t ask me leading questions about him!”

Some times i just don’t get footballers, they live in their own little world. If Hleb has said this, and i have read it all over the place, then you have to wonder just how little respect he has for the club that put him on the footballing map! Alex your a mug!

Actually, the main culprit is, as usual, the press. They try to make something out of nothing. Read Hleb’s words carefully. He just says “who knows” which is actually rather innocuous.
Still, I have to agree with most of you that Hleb is an IDIOT. He should have known how his words would be interpreted given the circumstances. He is also an idiot for thinking that playing for Barca will necessarily win him more throphys than playing for Arsenal. Real Madrid is still far and away the best team in Spain, and Barca are not more likely to win the CL than Arsenal. Hleb is just another ex-Arsenal player who will find that life abroad is not as rosy as he had hoped for. Even the King himself, Henry, have learnt that by now.
Good riddance to Hleb. Fabregas will stay, so there is no reason to panic.

If Helb really said this then he is a complete cock. It’s not as if he lost his place in the side or was treated badly by Arsenal. He was under contract and left the club at his own free will. Lets see how mouthy he is in a years time when he’s on the bench or reduced to a squad player after Barce realise he’s just a dribbler with absolutely no end product.

Hleb is a despicable cunt. It’s generally accepted now that footballers are mercenaries with no loyalty or sentimental attachment to their clubs whatsoever (all that insincere badge-kissing mendacity really should be outlawed), however even mercenaries behave with more dignity and respect than he has shown. And it’s not just the ignoble Hleb. It would be reasonable to assume that 80% of professional footballers are just as vain, venal, vapid, vulpine, and vicious as he. I hope we meet Barca in the CL at some point and we give him the reception he deserves. TH14 would never come out with anything like that and even though he never got on with Pleb if he did say these things i’m sure something would of been said by the great man. He probably doesn’t realise we are just as big a club than Barca due to the fact they have always wanted our players. So Pleb just go quietly and when we meet Barca at some stage let there football do the talking while you sit in the comfort of the dugout.

The guilty and stupid one here is not Hleb, is a lot of the Arsenal fans.
It is well known how Fabregas feels about Barcelona and even he has said in the past that he will eventually like to return there… but not now as Arsenal are so important to him and Wenger is like a dad.

erik before defending Hleb, just remember that Gooners have had toput up with crap like this from the so-called great ™ Euro clubs tapping up players for years. Hleb hardly covered himself in glory in the way that he and his pimp of an agent orchestrated the move to bastardolona, did they? Meeting Inter for icecream during a CL leg hardly constitutes open and transparent beahviour to a contracted player does it?
