Aston Villa finally abandon move for highly-rated winger: Could a certain United player be in the cards?

Well you can stop the rumours about David Bentley going to Villa. After much talk and discussion last week, Villa boss Martin O’Neill has been resigned to the fact that the Blackburn man can’t be part of the picture next year. However, that doesn’t mean the club doesn’t have a backup option.

OK, so James Milner is no David Bentley, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t be a fair addition to the club…right? If anything, at least he’s better than watching Martin go without any winger for the entire summer! After playing at Villa on loan, one would think that his previous relationship with the club would make him a smart fit to gel quickly with the current squad.

What do Villa supporters think about a move for Milner? Would he prove to be a solid second option to David Bentley?
