wow a team full midfielders and no strikers interesting we could end up on the end of a lot of 0-0 results by the sound of it if keane and berba are leaving bent shd stay and step up the plate a large hitman alongside him im a little surprised spurs havnt moved for andy johnson an old fashioned striker is just what spurs need with all that midfield talent at their disposal

we seem to be purchasing an adundance of misfielders tho…. jj, dz, hudd, mod, dos santos, lenny, capel and arshavin too??

Arshavin is a deep lying striker as he has played there for russia and zenit all the time he plays behind a big man upfront for russia its pavlyuchenko or pogrebnyak and the latter at zenit and that is a fact as i have seen him play manytimes and would be a like for like replacement for the little irish tinker.Personally i would like to see spurs break the bank for this guy he is a true genius on the ball and a good finisher and to see him linking up with the midfield bursts of modric would be great just need to sign a big man that is used to playing the lone striker role to get the best out of these two player’s.

Agree with you there Bob – he’s no deep striker. He’s an out and out central midfielder – his bursting central runs from deep make him more comparable to Jenas rather than Keane, out of anyone in our current squad.

i find it very interesting that spurs aren’t willing to pay more for arshavin than they did for modric. maybe on some level they think they’ll be undermining modric as the team’s playmaker. personally, i reckon they should stump up the monies – would be a top player at spurs i’m sure.

The boy is a bit special. And would be a superb replacement for keano. And he won’t go missing on a cold and rainy january night up north like so many foreign players do. The elements here are nothing compared to a russian winter.
