Who has displayed the most stunning lack of loyalty? Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United fans may have their thoughts on this!
by Mr Comfort on July 21st, 2008This summer’s transfer window has seemingly helped highlight just how little loyalty there is in the game. Players are consistently playing their clubs for obscene amounts of money whilst holding the threat of a move above the club’s heads.
Cristiano Ronaldo has probably received the most stick for his actions this summer, after he tried to pander to Real Madrid and it’s good to see Sir Alex and Manchester United sticking by their guns on that one.
Many Arsenal players have decided that they need more money, so have descended on Wenger, demanding huge pay increases whilst totally undermining the structure in place at the club. Flamini ran off for more money, Hleb likewise and Adebayor seemingly wants to do the same.
Spurs star Dimitar has pretty much demanded a move and has apparently been fined for sulking now that his move has been thwarted by the board. Is this another example of a complete lack of loyalty?
Have the sums of money flooding the top tier of the game simply washed away any semblance of devotion to your club? Are contracts even more worthless?
So which player has angered you most in this regard? To help you vent you can use the comment box below to register your vote and also note a nice poll to further make your point.

Yes there seems that the only loyalty left in the game lies with the fans, as for the player displaying the biggest lack of loyalty has to be Adebayor. He was nothing before we bought him, Arsene made him the player he is, he could have asked for a reasonable increase but his agent got in his head and made him into a greedy fucker! Now i really don’t care if he fucks off, in fact i would sell him right now if we were offered anything over 15m!

Keane leaving is the biggest travesty - and isn’t even mentioned.
I’m sure all will agree - they don’t wanna wear the shirt they can sod right off!
Saying that tho, I fully understand players leaving the gooners - they’re crap.

Yid87 - July 21st, 2008 at 3:34 pm
most disloyal player? hands down Robbie Keane. enough said.
N7teen - July 21st, 2008 at 3:41 pm
You’ve missed the point mate. Everyone knows that not only has Ronaldo always been a little iffy, but Berbatov has been wanting to leave Spurs for the last 12 months. The Gooners never pay top dollar, so there will always be rumours surrounding their better players, despite being a regular Champions League team.
The most disloyal person of the summer has been Robbie Keane. To state how much he loves the club and how he wants to finish his career with Spurs is one thing. But to then inform the club that he wants to leave less than two months later is downright treacherous. I always understood that Keano was a Celtic fan, but apparently Liverpool is now his boyhood team and he wants to go and sit on the bench at Anfield. He hated the squad rotation at Tottenham pre 2007-08, and just as he’d earnt himself a guaranteed starting berth he wants to go and fight for a place under the manager who tinkers with his team more than any Premier League manager.
Keane’s actions over the last couple of weeks has left a real sour taste in my mouth. The state of football today is all about money, greed and soundbites.

Send him back to the jungle?! Jesus christ that’s one of the most racially charged things I’ve ever read on a blog.
All of these players share the characteristic of talking about their love of the club during the season, and then heavy flirting when the actual opportunity arrives.
Keane and Berba? Probably not because they’re way too talented to be playing in a bottom-half of the table team.
My vote goes to Ade.
Manny - July 21st, 2008 at 3:46 pm
I’m loyal Spurs and i personally dont think Keane is moving for the money. I’m totally gutted he wants to leave as i think he is a fantastic player and team leader but can he really be to blame if he wants to join his childhood favourite club? if he was holding Spurs to ransom over salary, i’d call him a mercenary but he’s not. Give us £20m and i think we should let him go gracefully.
Adebayor - w4nk3r - just cos he’s a gooner!!!
Henry Hill - July 21st, 2008 at 3:50 pm
Robbie Keane is a little weasel…that little jig for joy after the 5-1 demolition of the scum even had me fooled, but it was all bollocks. Footballers have no empathy with the fans, they laugh at us!
Mr E - July 21st, 2008 at 3:55 pm
Dwight ‘Im a pure-bred Cunt’ Yorke. We found him on a beach - moulded him into Europes top striker - just for him to get his head turned by those tapping up twats Manure. Hope Ronaldo leaves and comes back to destroy you.
nickynicknick - July 21st, 2008 at 4:02 pm
My vote goes to the tabloid writers, tribal football and caught offside (yes YOU). They are only interested in stirring the shit for self promotion reasons.
Are we all naive to think that players are anything other than employees. The ‘club’ is an outdated ideal that just lingers on in the fans heads. They are businesses, employers and employees, period.
Just as we would probably jump ship for double bubble, so do players. And likewise the club bosses will then whinge that they cant get the staff these days.
All we can hope is that our particular factory turns out good product that we still want to buy. What car company would your club be? As a ggoner I think we are Lotus. Fucking amazing when they are going round the country lanes, but ultimately breaking down at the most inconvenient time.
nickynicknick - July 21st, 2008 at 4:03 pm
I meant gooner of course. My own Lotus moment!! LOL
Dom - July 21st, 2008 at 4:06 pm
I like my job, but if i can find another one doing the same thing for double the pay, i would leave that day. Same goes with football players. Its a business not a family picnic.
As for keane leaving tottenham, good choice.
My vote goes to Ronaldo tho
gooner83 - July 21st, 2008 at 4:08 pm

poor deluded gooner. must be awful being connected to that shite club… made the choice between them and Utd did you?
you play football the tottenham way and its clear we’ll finish ahead of you this season. SIlverware for us and not for you.
COYS!
HarlowYid - July 21st, 2008 at 4:28 pm
No real need for any rivalry on here is there, we all got our “disloyal” players, we’re all in the same boat one way or another. nickynicknick hit it on the head, I’d leave my job for a few extra quid and a quick wank.
Look on the bright side, Henry hasnt had the best time since he left, we can only hope we get that kind of retribution too, coz we all like a bit of revenge here and there >:)
p.s while we’re on the subject, do we call them unloyal or disloyal?
Dan - July 21st, 2008 at 4:33 pm
biz is obviously on the same crack as Jermaine Jenas… I’ve got to have some of what you are on mate the finishing above Arsenal s**t again. If I were a Spurs fan the second thing I’d do when my suicide attempt fails is concentrate on my team finishing above West Ham rather than the Supergoons!!!
Abebayor needs booing this season by the way the scumbag!!!
TottenhamFan - July 21st, 2008 at 4:34 pm
Definately Adebayor. Arsenal is the greatest team to walk the planet and everyday I wake up a am saddened to be assosiated with such a rubbish team as spurs. Every single year when we buy loads of players for tens of millions of pounds we gloat to our rivals that we will win the premier league. It hasn’t happened every before but now its the (Jaunde Ramos Revolution) what happend to Martin Jols White and Black Army?
5-1 ! Wow we beat you 5-1, fellow spurs fans should get over it! Arsenal have beat us over 20 times I believe and they don’t go on about it months after!Thats because one win in the Carling cup means so much for us. And the CarlingCup, well you can argue. Arguably the greatest cup ever to live is in yes(tottenham hotspurs trophy cabinet). Arsenal haven’t won anything in 3 years(Gasp) yet since last year we hadn’t won anything since… 1999, I believe thats 9 years since winning a trophy! Ooops.!
Thankyou !
gooner83 - July 21st, 2008 at 4:52 pm
boring yids… ‘we beat you in a shite cup’ have many times have we beaten you in the last ten odd years?
we may not have won anything in the last 3 years but were a big club with big history and were going places….are you…?

Sue - July 21st, 2008 at 5:18 pm
If The Arsenal don’t cast shadows and just dark clouds you have been running away from hail stones for the past ten years……….47 years and you are your still waiting you clown.
Tiny totts only a small team from Middlesex…..at least The Arsenal are from London.
CHARLIE GEORGE - July 21st, 2008 at 5:49 pm

GunnerIndia - July 21st, 2008 at 6:23 pm
From My heart The Flamster is the most disloyal
But Helb i dont have words for the Badge kissing MotherF*cker
and Ade i hope(know) u rot on the bench wherever u go.
Robbie Keane’s behaviour has been shocking.
Ronaldo is the biggest weasel cuz he has been the face of manu and then he says i wanna leave to earn 300,000 per week.I hate him on the field and off it he’s worst
Berbatov gives me the creeps and now the Spuds would also hate him
luca toni - July 21st, 2008 at 6:49 pm
stop dissing keane , he supoorted liverpool as A boy ,,of course he will want to leave spurs for this oputunity ,, spurs fans are just bitter coz witout him r nberba der fuckedddddd !! keane shud b allowed go ,,he suports liverpool and hes better than tottenham who will get relegated:):)
Tanzeel - July 21st, 2008 at 10:24 pm
I think the most disloyal player is Ronaldo and most disgraceful personality is Alex Ferguson as he is the biggest hypocrite in football history and ofcourse the most fucked up club is spuds
CHEERS
Door Gunner - July 22nd, 2008 at 8:30 am
For me its Adebayor followed closely by Keane. Ade was nothing and going no where, in fact he had a terrible reputation.
Ronaldo…well what more can he win at Man U? And what more can he win for the fans? And its a little rich to hear Ferguson bleating about loyalty considering the entire team with the exception of the elder statesman ( Ginger and Giggs) has be bought to chagrin of their original clubs.
Its players holding a club to ransom that gets my goat. I was a huge fan of Ade’s, now i want him sold.
Gooner49 - July 22nd, 2008 at 1:42 pm
For sheer arrogance, greed and disloyalty I have to go with Fat Frank Lumplard!!!
The guy gets paid stupid amounts of money (like £100k MORE a week than Ade) and he still says he’s gona “do one” to Inter because they won’t pay him that extra £5k a week!!!
The A-hole worships himself and has lost touch with reality. If Chelski don’t let him leave I hope he gets booed every game by those Chavs.
If we’re talking disloyal Gunners it’s got to be betewwn Reyes, Diarra and Adebayor.
Reyes for his persistent moaning and hankering after a move to Real.
Diarra for not having a shred of loyalty to even stay for a whole season.
Adebayor for claiming he loves Arsenal and declaring “it’s not about the money” only to then demand triple his wages and have the audacity to expect to be paid the same as the Ledgend Henry.
