Juande Ramos is one of a handful of managers hotly pursuing this La Liga ace and given the Tottenham manager’s success in the transfer market already this summer who would bet against another top notch player arriving before the window snaps shut
Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea are all to make moves for Valencia midfielder David Silva after the Spanish club admitted they would listen to offers. It is thought that Valencia are now looking to sell Silva along with team-mates David Villa and Joaquin in order to balance the books at the Mestalla. (Premiership Latest)
It seems the race for Spanish star David Silva is well and truly hotting up with yet more speculation in today’s tabloids and websites suggesting that the winger is the more likely of Valencia’s big assets to be sold off to fend off a financial crisis. The 22 year old midfielder works well behind a main striker or indeed on the wing or as the advanced midfielder, wherever he is played he is sure to entertain and is not afraid to try his luck with a rasping shot from all angles. Do Spurs fans think that Silva is a better bet than Bentley for a big bid this summer?

Absolutely. Silva is class. Bentley is good but not worth 18mil and a Spanish player would fit right in to Ramos’s new system. COYS.

i think he is class ,but in my opinion capel is a better bet for us i have watched this guy for over a year now he is pure class ,hope we sign these players soon its getting boring.

The guy is a short arse..We have enough in our midfield already. Technically, a good player but this is the premiership and with Modric,Lennon,D santos we probably have the shortest midfield in the prem. Dont need another one.

David Silva!yes,he is spurs type of player…skillful with so much flair and he will settle at WHL cos Ramos is spanish but I don’t it will happen cos spurs is not in CL..anyway try your spurs..who knows we might be lucky this time.

If Berbs goes to manure for 28mill, just throw the lot at valencia for Silva and Joaquin… Both of them has twice the potential of Bentley..

Silva was the most overated player in Euro 2008.

Silva is no doubt an amazing talent and if Spurs could buy him at a good price then lets bring him to the lane but I still think Capel would be the best player to fill the void in the left as he knows Ramos and his methods. If Silva, Capel orBentley arrive then the supply to the forward line (whoever it ends up being) will be superb and they will no doubt score a fabulous amount of goals.

we should be looking at realistic targets, Silva has already stated his desire to stay at Valencia and there is also reported interest from Barcelona. Spurs should sign Capel and if Albelda is going for 1.5mil then we should sign him. Bentley is not worth anything over 12 million and his transfer saga has gone on for to long so forget and move on. Sell Berba and Keane and buy Arshavin and Millito. COYS!!!!!!

Not being funny but were on the verge from going from an un balanced team with no left footers to going to a team with only left footers. Right footers leaving. Berba, Keane, Chimbonda, Malbranque, Tainio. Dont forget silva is left footed as are the rest of our signings modric, dos santos andweve got bale and gilberto. Think we should get Santa Cruz and Arshavin to play jus behind him Bentley on the right although 18mis a lot of money and probz is jus over the to i think the balance he will give the team wil be worth it, thenRamos should choose out of silva and capel who he wnts!!

To people on here who have had complaints with silva and especicaly just judging him on the euro i dont mean to be rude but what were you looking at he was in my oppinion one of the star young performers of the competion.
hes only 22 and he has massive amount of potential and watching him in la liga he has done extremly well especialy last season and particiualry against big clubs
if signeg he would be the best signing this season in the premiership

Team of left footers?? modric and gio are both two footed and from what ive seen of silva he looks pretty handy with two feet asweel. Silva is class, remember the goal he scored against chavski in the CL, genius! Cant see us persuading him with no CL though, but pool are skint and chelski claim they have “the perfect squad” with the potential addition of robinho so maybe theyre not interested?? Maybe Ramos could pull it off?? If he did as nick said it would be the signing of the season, I cant believe it will be as little as 16m though??

What a singing for tottenham that would be it would really prove they can compete with the top four on the financial side!Obviously Id like to see him at united but if not then defintely tottenham!!But we all know who will get him CHELSEA, but they will pay upto 30 million for him and ruin his carreer just like shevchenkos and maloudas and he will be gone next season!!!

silva is very versitile in the euros he played on the feft and right hes both footed and that can be very confusing for defenders he can also play in the middle or supporting striker
i say we bid 4 silva, jaoquin,capel,quaresma & arsharvin that would be the best midfield in the premiership no dobut U CANT ARGUE
tottenham obviously funds where biddin 4 plays and have a lot of players 2 sell still………
