Another ‘Little and Large’ act at Fulham? Everton striker nearing £10.5 million move

Despite Everton’s protestations that the player is not for sale, all evidence points to the contrary after Andy Johnson was left out of the Everton squad that faced Preston on Tuesday evening. David Moyes has gone on record to say that he wants to keep the striker at Goodison Park, although if The Sun are correct in their claim that Fulham are prepared to splash some big cash on the striker, it may be an offer too good to refuse for the Toffees.

ANDY JOHNSON looks set to complete a £10.5million switch to Fulham after being left out of Everton’s side last night.

The England striker, also linked with Wigan and Sunderland, played all of Saturday’s 4-2 defeat at Cambridge after overcoming a calf problem.

AJ was at Deepdale before kick-off but did not stay to watch the game — and is now set for Craven Cottage as exclusively revealed in Monday’s SunSport.

Johnson has had a fairly successful Everton career, and it’s testament to the ambition of the club that he now finds himself surplus to requirements. David Moyes clearly needs something of a war chest to acquire up to half a dozen players ahead of the new season. Fulham will hope that Johnson can combine well with Bobby Zamora, although it’s not a strike pairing that is going to fill to many opposition defences with fear. Perhaps AJ’s pace can be a real threat for the Cottagers, especially if he’s getting plenty of first-team starts?
