Spurs set for £25m SUPERSTAR bid: Could be a clever move!
by Mr Comfort on July 24th, 2008Daniel Levy looks set to overlook overtures for Dimitar from Old Trafford and instead decides to offer the Bulgarian a move overseas!
Don’t forget to check out Online Football Manager!
Tottenham will take a £5million hit to stop Dimitar Berbatov going to Manchester United.
Spurs are ready to let the Bulgarian strike ace join Barcelona or AC Milan for a cut-price £25m.
The Londoners had asked United to pay £30m before accusing them of unsettling their star player.
Spurs’ move is sure to further infuriate Old Trafford boss Alex Ferguson following the war of words that kicked off between the two clubs last week over Berbatov. (The Sun)
Clearly the atmosphere between Spurs and Manchester United has sunk to an all time low with the north London club rightly getting irritated by the not so subtle attempts to unsettle their star striker. And yes whilst tapping up may be a common occurrence that doesn’t make any less wrong when it rears its ugly head. Also given that Sir Alex didn’t actually look like he was going to bid in the 30m region anyway I don’t think Tottenham would lose anything by deciding to deal with teams on the continent rather than at home. Do Spurs fans think that Berbatov has played his last match for the club?

Frank - July 24th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
if we have to sell berbatov then i want him to go to AC Milan for two reasons. 1) i hate Sir Alex Ferguson and 2) Then Berbs can enjoy the UEFA Cup and not the Champions League and maybe we will play against him!
Eric - July 24th, 2008 at 6:53 pm
Couldn’t agree more Frank, if Berbs and Keano want to show just how little they care for the club then they can get lost! Lets sell Keano to AC Milan also!
Adz - July 24th, 2008 at 6:57 pm
Would be great Frank, but AC Milan have confirmed that there summer spending is over!
john - July 24th, 2008 at 6:57 pm
I agree about Berba. We should not sell him to someone in the same league. Let the sulk play in Italy or Spain. I still hate to see Keane go but if doesn’t want to be here then good riddance.
markyid76 - July 24th, 2008 at 7:00 pm
well said eric and frank
sell keane to spudpickingwanker fc

Colm - July 24th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
Im sure Keane and Berbatov would be delighted to play for AC Milan, Its ridiculous to be having a go at Keane. He spent 6 years at Spurs. He cant wait forever for them to play Champions league football so if he wants career progression at the age of 28 he has to leave now. Liverpool would be the ideal choice for him.
And if he did wait and Spurs challenge for champions league in 2 or 3 years time Spurs wont show him any loyalty if they think there are better younger players than him.
Anonymous - July 24th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
Can’t agree with you more Colm. Keane has done his fair share of scoring goals for the team. It’s time where he moves on and at 28 there won’t be many Champions League playing team coming in for him anytime soon. So, as a fan I say let him go, he deserves it. Good luck Robbie.
Alex - July 24th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
shut up spurs you mugs you done it to crystal palace don,t you like it done to you tuff stop crying you wanna be big club
Rob - July 24th, 2008 at 7:12 pm
Alex u aint got a clue, we bid for both Routledge and Bostock, Palace are just bitter cos the third rate management cant nuture the obvious talent you have, thats why your key players want to leave, whats happened to Watson even he wants to leave your 3rd rate scummy south london team.
Bebatov to Barcelona and Keane to Celtic for 5 million plus Artur Boruc and McGeady. (Keane is a Celtic fan dont know how the press get thie Liverfool info)
buzz - July 24th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
spurs cud b smart here
if we dont want him to go man u
but we r willing to cut 5mil
then we cud say to barca we will accept ac milans offer unless u involve eto’o
leso - July 24th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
ALEX. We did’nt do anything to palace, bostock was a FREE AGENT!! The tribunial might have a case to answer? Thats wot jordan got the hump with, the money palace got awarded , DONUT!!
Spurs Dude - July 24th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
Berbatov has NOT played his last game for Spurs, he starts tonight lolol, Keane however is NOT even on the bench, according to the official site….Has he left the training camp, does anyone know??????.
Rather Berbs went to Barca for a fiver, than let Rudolph have him.
Totally agree with you LESO, people should get their facts straight before moaning on here…..
George - July 24th, 2008 at 7:31 pm

jimbo yiddo - July 24th, 2008 at 8:04 pm
Let them both go and play where they want, with themselves for all i care! The player Ramos wants to keep is Berbs , for obvious reasons big strong centre forward and will fit in well with his system of one up front. Keane does not fit that bill, but will be good at keeping the bench warm at liverpool. The grass is not allways greener on the other side. Wait and see!
Goobo - July 24th, 2008 at 8:45 pm

I sincerely hope our board members do their utmost to keep barba………We will not be able to replace him with ease…..class act hard to find in today’s game…..May be barba is reading this post and changes his mind……this would certainly send a harsh message to the red, purple, blue nosed arrogant manure boss.
Bob The Yid - July 24th, 2008 at 8:48 pm

Goobo - July 24th, 2008 at 8:49 pm

Barba - July 24th, 2008 at 8:52 pm
ya kean the bean…..he can fuck off…….complains to officials unstop in all games…I am sick of this childish attitude….Fuck, let you game do the talking you shrimp
Goobo - July 24th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
To be honest, I will be disappointed if we dont sell both of them and get Milto, Pavylachenko, and Arshavin for the money. I think that would be stronger than what we currently have. Great player that they are, Keane isn’t clinical enough and Berba has too many sulky days. Still great pen in the LCF agianst the best GK in the world.
Daniel Levy - July 24th, 2008 at 8:58 pm
I have decided to let them sit in the stands next season - if they don’t want to play for my beloved club - fuck em
Rob keane - July 24th, 2008 at 9:04 pm

BIGRyidGE - July 24th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
Why has everyone missed the obvious solution to the Berba saga,Ronaldo has said that he wants to leave MANuRE 4 a bigger club so why dont we just do a straight swap Berba 4 Ronny.

Robbie u cant go to Liverpool, you failed the CRC. Seems you haven’t got one!
DuaneR - July 24th, 2008 at 9:51 pm
why should players/managers/clubs have to justify if a player is going to leave or sign.
i am fed up with clubs turning on there own players because the media tell them that is the right thing to do.
PS i think watford will be champions league winners within 4 years
elvis told me in tesco

Does anybody know if Robbie Keane’s horse can make it all the way up to Merseyside? He might actually have to buy a saddle for the trip.

lamour - July 25th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
berba come to united, daniel levy chairman of spurs is behaving like a kid there is no big deal anywhere he plays afterall. The point here is breba has to decide and make up his mind whether he want to play another season of UEFA cup or playing with the champions of europe in the Champions league. Let him leave if he wants to leave 4 united, players come and they go.He had it in his mind to play for manchester united so i don’t see him going to AC Milan. SPORS leave him unless u want him to behave like ghaly b4 u start reading the writing on the wall.
