Will Keane sale allow Tottenham to buy £16 million Euro 2008 star?
by stresster on July 25th, 2008One thing’s for sure, if Liverpool are going to land Robbie Keane in the next 48 hours, they must be prepared to splash the cash in doing so. Tottenham are not going to allow the Irishman to leave on the cheap, especially when they need as much as they can to invest in a replacement. And what a replacement this could be!

There are differing opinions about Andrei Arshavin, although I’m a massive fan of the diminutive playmaker, who stood out in two of Russia’s Euro 2008 matches this summer. The attacking midfielder also excelled for Zenit St Petersburg last season, helping them win the UEFA Cup, and Setanta report that Spurs are very much in for the player.
Spurs have offers from Manchester United and Liverpool for Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane respectively, and agent Dennis Lachter understands they need to raise funds before signing Arshavin.
“The price is very high, as are the personal terms,” Lachter told The Daily Mirror.
“Let us see what happens in the future. It may need English clubs to sell some players first.”
Arshavin and his agent will be delighted to see Robbie Keane move to Liverpool, finally making Tottenham cash-rich and perhaps willing to bring Arshavin in. Along with Modric, Tottenham would have two exciting, if a little lightweight, talents to frighten opposition defences. Are there reasons to be cheerful after all Spurs fans?

MODRIC LOOKS MENTAL - July 26th, 2008 at 1:41 am
Still unconvinced by arshavin but he would still be an exciting signing, not sure if hes a better deal than bentley or not, dont rate him much but hes young(ish) english and more robust that arshavin/modric, skillful as they are.
Personally I hope Levy and Ramos are going all out for Eto’o though, he may be a bit of an arrogant sulk but at the same time hes a top top striker and would give us some real class up front to replace berba and keano who SHOULD BE SOLD NOW COME ON SPURS JUST GET SELLING AND BUYING SO THE PLAYERS CAN START TO GEL TIME IS TICKING WE CANT AFFORD ANOTHER SHIT START!!!
PS delieriously happy that fat robbo has gone though, good work on that one.
J - July 26th, 2008 at 2:50 am
I will be delighted if it means that Berbatov stays and Arshavin playing alongside him. That POTENTIALLY could be a even better pairing. It’s a rare thing to see Arshavin lose the ball in possession. The dream ticket will however be Villa-Berbatov partnership.
Arshavin or Villa ? Villa for me.
REDHED - July 26th, 2008 at 3:07 am
If villa or arshaven end up coming to shite fart stain I’ll know that there is a parralell universe where everything is fuked up and bent outa shape…. but of course there isn’t, so that means no villa or arshavin for you! fukin dreamers!
COYS - July 26th, 2008 at 3:23 am
Redhed whats the matter with you? You pissed off coz you’ve got Ginger pubes and the girls wont go anywhere near you? I take it you’re a fan of the Arse who is bitterly jeolous because all you’ve done this closed season is lose some of your best players and buy a couple of kids, and as far as i can tell most of your current players want to leave. The futures white, lilly white.
Jon G - July 26th, 2008 at 3:26 am
Hey J
Villa doesn’t want to play for you…twats. He has made it clear that there are only a few teasm in the EPL that he’s interested in…and guess what? It’s not Tottenham.
Good luck next year…haha
Jon G - July 26th, 2008 at 3:31 am
Good one Coys…there is an exodus going on in Arsenal
But the future is not white…it’s Red. Mighty Red. Anfield Red.

Danny - July 26th, 2008 at 6:51 am
As if Villa would go to a mid table club like Tottenham. Berbatov is the most overrated player in the Premier League and that’s saying something. He regularly misses chances and is very lazy won’t work for the team he’s a mighty sulk better to get rid Spurs. No Spanish player will ever join a London club if they’ve played for a decent team in La Liga.
Ryan - July 26th, 2008 at 8:01 am
David Villa is very interested in joining Spurs and the whole Ramos revolution, Ramos has been in spain for two weeks training the fittest looking squad i’ve ever seen. we can easily afford him selling berbasulk, then all we should concentrate on is either bentley or Neves, agin easily affordable with the keane sale, money should be no problem with the big clear out we are having, oh yeah people are over looking we have Giovanni Dos Santos, as Henry quoted “Will be the best player in the world”. So all I can say is :The futures bright the futures lily white
Spurt - July 26th, 2008 at 8:05 am
I think it’s changed again! Keane to go, Berbs. to stay, being fed by either Capel or Arshavin . Possible minor purchase Mr David Bentley.
Gibbons the hoop - July 26th, 2008 at 8:24 am
I think your best bet for next season is
——-Gomes/New keeper—
-Hutton-King-Woody—Gilberto
-Dos Santos—Modric—Zokora/New guy—-Bale
————————–Arshavin——-
—————-New striker———–

Ryan - July 26th, 2008 at 10:20 am
I think:
——————-Gomes———————-
Hutton—Woodgate—King/Dawson–Bale
Bentley—–Jenas——-Modric—-Lennon-
—————————-Santos—————-
————–Villa/new striker—————-
Ryan - July 26th, 2008 at 10:29 am
That is a world class team with no weak links, the blistering pace of the leftside of Bale and lennon, with lennon having played that posistion before, the fact he can not cross will be helped by having Santos at left attacking midfield. Jenas and modric will boss the centre midfield feeding Villa and holding the midfield respectivley.Bentleys amazing crossing ability from the right with the Strong Scot Hutton backing him up, then of course one of the strong centre back line up in the premier, with the three English Rocks King,Dawson and Woodgate switching based on injury and cup games. If Some how that lot is penertrated we now have a safer hand between the post with Brazillian Gomes, who’s record at PSV speaks for its self. Top for here we come If we can get Bentley and Villa that is.lol
Ryan - July 26th, 2008 at 10:30 am

Ranieri being the Sub keeper of course now robbo has gone
Ryan - July 26th, 2008 at 10:35 am
Sub’s:
Ranieri
Gilberto
O’Hara
Bent
Dawson/King
Huddlestone
Zokora
