Aston Villa and Sunderland chasing WONDERFUL £2m left-back to bolster their ranks: Martin needs his services!

Celtic wingback Lee Naylor’s departure from the club looks more likely as Sunderland and Aston Villa stepp uptheir efforts to tempt him back south of the Border.
Sunderland manager Roy Keane has been chasing the Englishman all summer while it’s understood the defender is also high up on Villa’s shopping list.
Former Parkhead manager Martin O’Neill is on the look out for a full-back after Wilfred Bouma suffered a horrific broken ankle during their Intertoto Cup clash with Danish side Odense at the weekend. (Scottish Daily Record)
The injury to Wilfred Bouma, who was Villa’s starting left-back, placed a huge black cloud over the club’s Intertoto Cup victory this past weekend. Whilst it remains to be seen where exactly Martin O’Neill goes from here, the link with Naylor isn’t a bad one, since he’d definitely prove to be a viable second option while Bouma is on the mend. Sunderland could also make a claim that they need the security at the back; but right now, you’d have to believe that Villa need this deal more than ever. What do Villa supporters think about making a move for Naylor?

NO dont want him at Villa would prefer to see Stephen O Halloran get his chance at left back rather then see naylor playing for us.

Wonderful i thought you were talking bout wilson or something. Naylor? I’d rather he left for 2 million to rangers but I’ll do with 1.5 mill (As keane and MON will get his price cut) to Sunderland but not Villa coz we are top 4 not bottom half.

I would gladfully swap Naylor for Martin O’Niel’s book on mangement.

Villa a top 4 side!!! I doubt it. What’s all this good enough for Sunderland crap. Were are far bigger club than your dirty little suburb of Birmingham. We’re starting to gain momentum and I can see us leaving team’s like Villa (who I think it’s fair to say have had there chances to be successful in the PL) in our wake.

OK both teams to finish top half next season and I can see Sunderland landing Naylor, as he builds a team to break into any Europe spot…
