Fulham in the final stages of finalising £12m swoop for wantaway Everton striker
by offsidetrap on July 28th, 2008Not coming as a shock to anyone except those living in a cave in Outer Mongolia, a certain Merseyside striker is less than 24 hours away from making his much-anticipated move back to London after running hot and cold at his club last season. I’m sure supporters are counting his transfer fee and cheering in the streets after hearing this news!

Andy Johnson is due to have a medical at Fulham today after the club agreed a £10.5m transfer fee for the striker with Everton. That fee could rise to £12m depending on potential success for both Johnson and Fulham. (Guardian)
After getting rejected on their initial £11.8m offer for Portugal midfielder Joao Moutinho, the club will now look to put the funds from moving Andy Johnson to good use by making another potential play for the one transfer target they can’t seem to live without. If the deal does get done before the start of the season, you’d have to imagine that a thankyou note will be appearing in Roy Hodgson’s office in the near future. The injection of funds from this deal could be just what Everton needs to make a serious push for some quality transfer talent!
What do Everton supporters think about Fulham swooping for Andy Johnson? Do you think the £12m transfer fee is enough to get Joao Moutinho to the club next season?

TO the makers of COS.
I receive your Daily updates on email.
It has to be said It is very annoying and fustrating that If I want to know the whole article I have to now click a link and another page has to be opened to view what it’s all about.
can you lot stop using “a certain striker/winger” so that busy geezers like myself can read the story without having to click click click to read any single damn article???
I think I speak for all those who get your updates through Email. Other sites are also offering entertaining reads without the pathetic leads.
Do the right thing for your viewers!
Dave the Gooner in Hong Kong. The site is very good despite the blamers and haters critisizing the writers. It’s absolutely contradictory saying COS articles are rubbbish then only to read the whole thing and spend their time commenting.
Keep up the good work COS.
