So it appears that what Rafa wants, Rafa gets, after clinching the signing of Tottenham man Robbie Keane. Apparently the next target that the Liverpool boss will not be Gareth Barry but this La Liga star.
Rafael Benitez seems to put his plans of signing Gareth Barry on hold as he moves for Valencia midfielder David Silva.
Valencia currently have debts of over £400 million, and they seem willing to sell a few of their star players. Moreover, Valencia need money to fund their new £250 million stadium.
According to Silva’s agent, Julio Llorente, Valencia have already rejected a £17 million bid for Silva from Atletico Madrid, and with the fee for the player reportedly lower, Benitez seems ready to purchase a player who helped Spain win the Euro 2008. (Kop-tv.com)
David Silva is an edge-of-the-seat type of player, the exciting youngster is a joy to watch and if he cuts out the diving, he would be a great addition to the club. Obviously, finances dictate that Rafa can manage one more major signing and, according to this source, that one signing is the Spanish attacker who works best on the wing. If Liverpool fans could advise their manager, would they opt for Silva or Barry?
